hi dudski! i have a question and it’s would you ever release what you have of that vegas fic you were working on?cus im still interested haha

OH MY GOD, THE THING!!!!! It’s funny, I moved earlier this year and while I was going through some old papers I found all my notes/drafts/etc for this, including printed out August/September 2014 calendar pages where I marked down all the relevant WWA shows and worked out where exactly in his ongoing emotional breakdown Louis would have been at each show. FOND MEMORIES!!!!!!

(For everyone who is not this anon, Chloe, or Nicole and therefore has no recollection of this, THE THING was a Liam/Louis fic-that-never-was about Liam and Niall getting drunkenly married while jointly celebrating their 21st birthdays in Vegas, everyone treating this like The Funniest Thing That Has Ever Happened, and Louis slowly losing his mind with jealousy over the course of the final ten shows of the WWA tour until finally Liam figured out that Louis wasn’t MAD AT HIM, he was IN LOVE WITH HIM.)

Writing fic was always like pulling teeth for me, and then I got busier and busier from mid-2014 until well after the band called it a day, so unfortunately THE THING never really went anywhere and I never even wrote any of the good stuff! I do have like 2/3 of it plotted out in a gdoc and and since I am the least busy I have ever been in my ENTIRE LIFE  I was considering diving into some other unfinished non-fic stuff to commemorate 10Dversary, so...let me think on this and see if I can get into enough of a 1D headspace that I can at least add that last third of “AND THEN LOUIS WAS GOING TO BE LIKE THIS AND LIAM WAS GOING TO BE LIKE THIS” screaming to the gdoc and get that posted.

One tag about 1d that has always stuck w me is yours after Liam's attitude interview like "1d wouldn't be a thing if Cheryl Cole hadn't gotten malaria yet he believes in fate bc he ran into his gf at a friend's party" (about how he's a romantic)... So I was thinking about it like oh huh that doesn't so much apply with Sophia anymore but then it hit me the whole new "ending" to that story! like do they even REALIZE ??? What does he think about the fate of it all now? Nuts!!! It's all nuts

I WAS THINKING ABOUT THIS AROUND THIS YEAR’S 1DVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not those tags specifically, but just the way Liam/Cheryl adds a whole new layer to that part of the 1D origin story. If Liam ever figures out that he and Cheryl probably never would have gotten together IF SHE HADN’T GOTTEN MALARIA SIX YEARS AGO it is going to blow his mind. LIKE, I WOULD PAY TO SEE HIM REALIZE THIS.

WOW the fact that I ship Lilo with all my heart makes me a fully detatched from reality tinhat?????????????????????? Thanks. You were one of my favourite blogs and now I'm even more dissapointed. There was no need to be mean.

I don't understand how Cheryl could be seen as interfering with or detracting from Lilo in a non-tinhat context, any more than Danielle does, or Sophia did, or Eleanor did. I'm sorry that it was unexpected that I'm a) pro-girlfriend and b) an asshole, but there's a reason I stuck a picture of Sophia and Eleanor and the words "I am an asshole" on my layout. I literally did both of those things to warn people that I am a pro-girlfriend asshole, so if anyone knows of a way I can make that clearer, let me know!

I’m a Lilo shipper, not a FULLY DETACHED FROM REALITY LILO TINHAT? I don’t see what Cheryl has to do with how much I love Lilo, since I don’t and have never loved Liam and Louis in a way that doesn’t allow for them to have real-world girlfriends. I love Liam and I want him to be happy, and Liam says he’s happy, so I’m thrilled for him!

I also have a pretty firmly established track record of loving JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO OR AROUND 1D BECAUSE WIN LOSE OR DRAW THEY’RE ALWAYS ENTERTAINING, so of course I love that Liam’s with Cheryl.

I MEAN, IT’S BEEN A WEIRD YEAR FOR LILO ENTHUSIASTS.

Look - HOW MANY THINGS have the boys said or done that they only remember because they see it repeated back to them by the fans over and over? How many moments are treasured by fandom and totally forgotten by the boys? So much of of what we do in fandom is taking what’s there and assigning extra meaning or weight to it. It’s also maintaining parallel appreciation for a) what’s actually happening and b) our preferred fictional storyline, and losing our minds over it when something happens in The Actual Reality that mirrors The Imagined Reality. And, like, that’s fine when I lose my shit over Tomlinshaw, because BASICALLY NOTHING + MY EXTRA ENTHUSIASM = STILL BASICALLY NOTHING. No matter how excited I get about Tomlinshaw, there is still going to be a huge fucking gulf between What Is and What Isn’t.

But then you’ve got Lilo out here ACCIDENTALLY KISSING ON STAGE and SAYING “MY BEST FRIEND” and TEARING SHIRTS OFF and GOING TO RIDICULOUS LENGTHS TO SHOW UP AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER AT EVENTS and TALKING ABOUT GOING ON VACATION TOGETHER/MOVING IN TOGETHER/GETTING MARRIED and god knows whatever else? THEY ARE ALREADY TOO MUCH TO HANDLE, like, there is no way for me to do anything with what I’m being given that doesn’t make me feel like I’ve suddenly arrived IN THE HEART OF TINHAT COUNTRY because Liam and Louis are THAT FUCKING EXTREME.

28 and 29 is a perfect example of this, because Liam got the 29 tattoo and I LOST MY SHIT OVER 28 AND 29 and had this whole back and forth with myself of “I feel like I’m going too deep with this but also it’s not unreasonable to think that even though 28 has its own significance to Louis and 29 has its own significance to Liam, those numbers might have been elevated in significance because they liked the idea of being a matched set, WAIT, IS THAT REASONABLE OR NOT, I GENUINELY CAN’T TELL, WHAT THE FUCK, AM I RIGHT ON THE MONEY OR AM I READING WAY TOO MUCH INTO SOMETHING THAT DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING, oh well, even if it doesn’t mean anything to them I can appreciate the coincidence,” AND THEN THREE MONTHS LATER LOUIS GETS 28 TATTOOED ON HIS FUCKING HAND? LITERALLY:

So I’ve just come to terms with the fact that Liam and Louis are so fucking ridiculous and over the top as a pairing that SOMETIMES I’M JUST GONNA BE LIKE “JESUS, AM I A LILO TINHAT?” But thankfully there is a very simple way to remind myself that I’m not: DO I BELIEVE THAT ANY TIME EITHER OF THEM HAS ANY KIND OF RELATIONSHIP WITH A WOMAN THAT IT’S PART OF AN ELABORATE FICTION CONCOCTED BY #MANAGEMENT TO HIDE THE FACT THAT LIAM AND LOUIS ARE TOGETHER? listen. i am sorry bc i am very much not sober and so much is happening. but any time something happens. and sometime is unhappy about it. and it’s not like objectively racist or whatever. it is 1d rapture. everything that has happened in the last however many months is 1d rapture. the only negative 1d development of 2015 is no tour dvd. everything else has been magic. IT IS SO GOOD.
