1K Pages Readathon Announcement

i should have had a photo for this but i’m tired

HI HELLO I’m hosting a 1k pages readathon to cap out the reading year! 

When: December 25th - December 31st

Where: the comfort of your own home, where you can be as cozy as possible and drink all the tea/coffee you want

Goal: read 1000 pages (or go wild and read as much as you can, yolo)

I know it’s starting on Christmas Day (but i’m alone and i have no holiday plans), so don’t worry about not joining right at the beginning, just hop on when you want/can, and have fun with it :)

So I'm doing @books-and-cookies 1k page challenge for the first time, even tho I always binge lots of books this time of the year with all my new books every year.

So I have read Radio Silence by Alice Oseman (finally) and that was 474 pages long. Loved it, it was highly addictive, nice ace rep (yay demisexuals!!), and good twin rep???

Idk what I'll pick up next, I have lots of choices, I'll post my Christmas book haul soon!!

Since Christmas is in 4 hours where I am, I thought I'd post my reading goal for the 1k readathon!

Sooo... My holidays start today so I'll be cheating a little on the 1k readathon and start 👀

Here is my tentative tbr (might read more, might read less)

- Phoenix Extravagant (read 50 pages before it started, 343 pages total)

- Ariah (408 pages)

- Arrow's Flight (318 pages)

- Return of the Thief (303 pages)

@books-and-cookies I absolutely failed #1kpagesdecember, I tried reading Miss Austen but my brain went like why don’t you watch the whole season of Bridgerton instead. So I did. I will probably finish The Valancourt Book of Victorian Christmas Ghost Stories though, but it’s tiny (but nice with short stories, and perfect for a day like this where it’s been raining non-stop).

I'm usually a pretty slow reader which is why I've never done reading challenges before. But since I've got nothing else to do over the holidays other than boring errands, maybe it's time to break my readathon virginity. Here's what I've got planned!

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood - 311 pages

The Power by Naomi Alderman - 330 pages

Iban Dream by Golda Mowe - 281 pages

Ms. Marvel (2014), Volume 1 by G. Willow Wilson - 130 pages

Total - 1052 pages This may or may not change and I may very well not get to that 1000 pages, but it'll be fun!

Finished Das Evangelium der Aale (116 pages) and started The starless Sea. So far I love it!

Not sure if I can really make the 1000 pages until the 31st because the next few days will be quite busy... but I’ll keep going 🤗
