♦ :Your muse asked mine to marry them, what's my muse's reaction? (Heronwood)
When Gabriel finally asks Cecily to marry her, she is shocked. It's a ridiculous reaction, considering how long the road has been just to get a ring on her finger, but seeing him kneeling in front of her, asking her to marry him, be with him for the rest of their lives, it takes her breath away. She had always wondered if Gabriel would eventually think of her to be too much, too loud, too brash, too reckless to settle down with. After all, it had taken him so long to bring up the subject of marriage anyway.
Even after she found out he'd been biding his time until she was ready, Cecy still had some doubts. As much as she didn't like to think about it, the thought remained that William had once left the family he'd been born into, what if Gabriel left the family he married & created? But then, seeing the ring, she'd realized: a ten year old boy had done something reckless, emotional.
Gabriel Lightwood thought things through; he was loyal.
She was going to be with the man she loved for the rest of her life.
