Raise Up Your Child in the Ways of the Lord
"Jehoash was seven years old when he began to reign. In the seventh year of Jehu, Jehoash began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Zibiah of Beersheba. And Jehoash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord all his days, because Jehoida the priest instructed him."
2 Kings 11:21 to 12:1-2 ESV
"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."
A reminder for parents and guardians to raise up their children in the ways of the Lord our God and to love Him.
Children's personalities and morals are easily impressionable during their formative years. They will learn behaviors from who they look up to and spend time with, the parents being the people they will likely look up to the most and spend the most time with during their childhood.
A child will copy the template of their parents and learn from their teachings. So it is the parents' responsibility for their template to reflect Christ's character and to teach their children the ways of our God, to teach them to love Jesus Christ, so that they have the wisdom to discern good from evil.
When you raise up your child loving Jesus, they will know Him and not want to depart from Him.
