Battle Ready? I Don't Think So

Little man and i have been watching the Harry Potter series for a few weeks now. Last night we watched "…the Order of the Phoenix."

What’s been nagging at me is the fact that Satan is blatantly throwing in professed believers’ faces the mere fact that we aren’t going to be ready when he tears into our butts! (I was gonna go for the punch and say asses but I told God I’d like to work on the quality of my speech as well as the structure of it. Yay me!)

Our church leaders and officials the world over are playing us like fiddles with these messages of peace, love, and harmony. And even if they are bold enough to tell the real danger of Satan, are we being prepared for the forthcoming battle? Yes, there is going to be another showdown. The Bible makes that clear. And if history repeats itself, all believers have to do is look back in history to the time of the siege of Rome. We're even told in scripture that if it were possible even the very elect in Christ will be deceived and led astray.

Look, I don't like to look at myself as a conspiracy theorist. And now that I've said that, how many conspiracy theorists do like to call themselves that? hmm... Back to the point... Not to get all the-sky-is-falling on you, BUT we need to get it together. This place, this earth, is going to be ripped apart if Satan has his way. Yes, he will. He's a destroyer. Don't you watch the movies. What evil dictator's reign stayed pristine? They always think they're the Best of the best of the best and pride comes before every fall. Remember: the dude thinks he's better than God. He thinks he's better than the being that created him and knows every flaw & praise-worthy attribute in him.

Now, before I go on ranting, we already know how God feels about pride, right? And we know how He feels about us, His children, right? The word says that because of us our Father is going to shorten the time because if He doesn't, no flesh will be saved. Satan is going to try to destroy everything. That nigga's crazy!

Are we preparing ourselves? Are we battle ready? I don't think so. Are we keeping the lines of communication open with God? Are we turning loose those things He's pointed out aren't good for us? Are we putting the time and effort in to keep our minds, bodies, hearts, and souls under subjection? There's a reason Paul used athletic and war terms to describe the spiritual life of a true believer.

We have to be on our game at all times, preparing for the skirmishes on the inside, training for the personal battles we face on our day-to-day treks, and damn near enlisting in a spiritual bootcamp of sorts in order to be fit for the war that is upon us. The signs that Jesus so plainly laid out as the Beginning of Sorrows have begun. We are across the starting line, love.

While you're enjoying the "creativity" of Hollywood, pay attention. Satan lives in truth and error. You need the Holy Spirit's discernment to know the difference. Look. Listen. Live. Unlike Harry Potter, we can't turn to devices that God has told us not to touch in order to fight evil. We have to turn to Jehovah, the true source of light and life, for protection and power and love and a sound mind. Revelation says that we have already won this thing under the banner of Michael, the Archangel, the Son of God. We have to know this, believe this, pray this, feel this, live this, speak this, think this, sing this, teach this... we will overcome by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimonies.

Let's prepare. God's waiting for His children to open their eyes and shake off all preconceived ideas of following Him. No matter what the world around us says we know the truth and we must prepare for the battle.

Savior, like a shepherd lead us. We need You. Guide my friends and family that are searching, that are lost, that need a bit of direction. Touch all of us just to remind us that You are a living god, one that breathes and speaks and cares. You're not immune to our suffering. You are in tune to our tears. Fill our hearts with Your essence so that we will know You when You speak, or when we're in Your presence. Be with all of our children, too, Lord. Teach us so that we may teach them and in turn they'll develop a relationship with You so that You can teach them personally.

You're all powerful, God. Let us not be put to shame.

Heal us, now, God of all mercy. Heal us, now, You promised to help us. Use Your strong right arm to rescue us. Deliver Your beloved. Please touch me with Your healing hands. Energize me with Your healing power. Let Your healing touch massage my aches. Let Your healing blood cleanse me. Please bless my efforts to take care of myself. Please honor Your servant.

You see W. Glock, Lord. You know what he needs the most. He's afraid, Father, and rightly so. His counts are really low and his health, his life is hanging in the balance right now. Encourage him when he's down. I feel bad that I don't remember, or maybe just don't know if he knows You. Make Yourself known to Him. Remove the negativity around him, Father, and build him a better support system. For me, first and foremost remove the demon that he calls a boyfriend. However You think is beneficial. You can dispose of the demon itself, Father, or you can take the boyfriend and the demon away. Of course, the boyfriend needs Your touch, too. [sighs] so, remove the demon, Father. Send Your mightiest angels to fight that fight, okay?

KW needs You, too. I already asked You to watch over him and help the doctors figure out what's going on. Lord, please don't let satan win. You know KW was coming after You. Does it need to end now? Will he not make it if he's healed? Father, You know what's best, if I'm asking amiss for his healing, I'm sorry, but that's what I want. I don't want to lose him. Save him for Your kingdom, Abba. Please.

Sarah's having a hard time kicking that crud she has, Lord. I suggested a couple of natural things for her to do. Touch her sinuses, Father, and release the pressure. Help the medicine do its job. Cause any natural remedies she uses to be potent and effective, too.

Momma Love is in agony with that hip, Lord. Your daughter needs You to do what You do - be her Healer. You didn't rescue her from a number of bouts with cancer to see her weaken and lose to a nerve problem. One word from You, Lord, and she'll be healed. She'll be okay. Just one word. Please speak it.

Kermit said that mom is fighting a cold. Here's an opportunity for You to show her how well natural things work, Father! Whisper to her remedies to help her situation. Remind me to take down some things that will be beneficial, too. Give her the strength she needs to endure. Heal her, Father. She has too much responsibility to get held back by sickness. If she needs rest, Lord, the encourage her to rest. Give me words of encouragement for her. I love my mom, Father. You love her more. Please take care of her.

I believe...help my unbelief.

Destiny: she needs a job, Lord. Most importantly she needs You. She needs You to show her who You really are. I don't know if that means that You get her a job, but that's what I'm praying for. I'm asking You to get her a job. Encourage her to network, talk to people. Maybe You can get her to go back to church just for the sake of putting her in touch with people, again. Touch someone to reach out to her, Father. How is she going to take care of the boys properly if she doesn't have a steady income? Is this a faith thing like the widow and Elijah? Bless her, please, Father. For Your name's sake, show Yourself great on her behalf. Give her what she needs in a way that she realizes that it was totally You and that what she received is exactly what she needed. If that's a great idea for an entrepreneur endeavor, then so be it! Thank You, Father.
