Lightning Bolt- Earthly Delights

Lightning Bolt are noise legends. Hailing from my home away from home Providence, Rhode Island, these RISD grad's fucking rip. Bringing about insanely intense shows, where they are known for "guerilla shows" (aka play on the floor like every other punk band) and playing loud as hell, they are at least an avant-garde group to respect. Lightning Bolt plays a very unique style of noise where they use only a bass guitar, drums, and a microphone wrapped in a sock mask around the drummers face. Using interesting effects and driving drums, with influence from jazz composers to Japanese noise rock and punk bands, the band packs a fucking punch with each track you go through. The tracks drone with the bass overload like a saw on a tree and pulsate with drum blasts, it leaves you coming back for more. Earthly Delights is their latest recording (from 2009 seeing) but one I have been stumped on for a bit. It's rad schizophrenic effects and marathon style of fast paced audacity reminds me of jungle running cut scenes. It's got an interesting triable feel, and rad ass effects on most tracks. Colossus has been really sticking out as an anthem to me lately, but check it out and experiment with yo taste.
