Imagine Thorin thinking you are only interested in him because he is a prince, until you turn down another prince
*at the prancing pony*
Some rando: *waltzes up to the table, leans on it, and shoots you a slimy grin* hey there pretty thing, how would you like to come to my castle and be my wife?
You: no thanks
Guy: what do you mean, no? No one has rejected me before! I'm a prince!
You: is that supposed to mean something to me?
Guy: It's just everyone wants me because I'm a prince.
You: evidently not.
Guy: *is now really intrigued by you* why don't you want me, like the reasons.
You: you creep me out, you have been drooling all over every woman in this bar since walked in here, you're arrogant, and that's just what I've seen of you. The problem with you being a prince has a whole slot of problems. Like the loss of autonomy, the inability to be spontaneous, the lack of privacy, the fact I'd have to be in the same room as you, and a whole host of unpleasantness. The loss autonomy, privacy, and spontaneity are not things I am willing to forgo for someone like you.
Guy: oh, that means there is someone you are willing to sacrifice those things for.
You: * thinks of Thorin * I may have my eye on someone, but that is none of your business.
Guy: oh well, if they don't return your feelings come find me, you know where I live. *waves as he leaves*
Thorin: you always surprise me, the more I get to know the less I can figure you out.
