Das Kraus
Last week I finally made my way to Das Kraus after having heard so much about it from friends. Dinner is a set menu of six courses, a shorter version with four courses is also available. The meal can be accompanied by either wine or tea, but I ordered a beer to start with. Das Kraus @Vienna The restaurant has a cozy and comfy feel. Our table was the one in the so called ‘tea salon’ at the end of…
Cucina Itameshi
Cucina Itameshi took over the location of the Dogenhof and is part of the Mochi group. The building is still one of the most beautiful in the area, just look at the winged lion on top of the portal. Cucina Itameshi @Vienna But also the inside is spectacular, dining here was definitely a visual highlight. The old rooms had gotten a colorful makeover, the marble floor shined bright, and interesting…

Okra Izakaya – update
Summer seems like far away, especially looking at the these pictures from Okra Izakay. But the evening I had here was already in fall. Which is easily to deduct since we were eating Ramen. I love myself a good Ramen when the weather turns. The one time I was at Okra Izakaya, I sat inside and ate a lot of different sushi rolls. This time time it was still fine enough for outside. outdoor seating…

Mochi am Markt
Market restaurants are best frequented in summer time. This is why I chose Mochi am Markt twice in the span of two weeks as my dinner destination. It all started with my new obsession with watermelon salad. Served at a friends’ place with the remark that they had recently sampled the one at Mochi am Markt. Since it was so memorable, they gave it a go at home and came up with something that I…

Dogenhof
The word ‘Doge‘ invokes a picture of historical Venice in front of my inner eye. I never really knew that Vienna had a building called Dogenhof that pays tribute to Venice’s past (or rather to an Austrian theme park called Venice in Vienna from the 19th century). Whatever the reason for erecting this beautiful building, let’s be grateful that this gem is still standing in Vienna. Even though it…

Okra Izakaya
I found the restaurant Okra Izakaya by chance through the comment section in a newspaper. I think the topic was ramen and where to get a good bowl. When I checked out the website though, I decided I should go for something else. I tried ramen twice and I am not such a fan.
We decided on sharing everything, so much better for tasting more. But it is a principle here in this restaurant. We started…
