What is this?! (Stabby Update!)
My goal for Stabby was always distant radio control. :) Soooo.... what are you looking at? Well, that’s two Lego Power Functions XL motors. They are connected through a Scorpion Mini 2 Channel H-Bridge speed controller powered by a 9.6volt NiMH 2000mAh battery. They are controlled by a RadioLink 8 channel Transmitter and Receiver.
Theoretically the Transmitter/Receiver has a ground range of 500 meters, MUCH greater, and not requiring LOS to control like the Lego Power Functions IR System. Once I clean up and mount the speed controllers and radio in an enclosure (Made from Lego of course!) it’ll be a much cleaner setup than the 3 IR receivers and 2 battery packs I was using to control Stabby.
I’m still trying to figure out a solution for the Lego Servo motor, I don’t have any real way to control it, it was suggested to directly connect it to the receiver, so I need to look up the pinout on the Lego Servo Motor and see if I can figure out how to connect it.
I’m also looking to buy an FPV system so I can control Stabby without having line of sight to him... !
If anyone has any tips to connect the Lego Power Functions Servo motor to a radio control system... I’m all ears... not been finding much out on the nets to help me with it.
