The most "white guy" thing Arthur C. Clarke ever wrote was the scene in 3001: The Final Odyssey where Dr. Indra Wallace, the Enlightened Future Woman Who Views The Twentieth Century As The Worst Period In History, gets into an argument with Frank Poole where she claims that the United States should have forcibly stopped other cultures from practices she thought were "barbaric". Like, even if some of the things she listed were in fact human rights violations from an objective standpoint, "white people interfering with other cultures they decided were barbaric" was one of the big reasons things got so bad in the first place. That's "to boldly go where no man has gone before (they almost exclusively go to inhabited worlds)"-levels of "white guy".
That, or the fact that there are only two religions in the entire Solar System and humanity has one (1) globally unified culture, but tbh that's pretty much par for the course by Sci-Fi By A White Guy standards. Frankly "they have two religions" is actually less Like That than what we usually get, which is "humanity is Too Enlightened for Religions Of Any Kind".
Yesterday, it was Jet with his “paint me like one of your French girls”, and today it’s Albert.
It's that time again, folks. 15 tracks (.wma and .mp3) at a little over 78MB running about 65 minutes with cover and back art. This was actually the first mix I started working on but it took this long to find appropriate songs for each cyborg. Some of them turned out a bit weird anyway. It's pretty much a 2001 anime mix.

The more of the 2001 continuity I see the more I'm convinced it's just a congo line of unreciprocated love.
Albert pines after Jet. Even if you're not into 42, it's clear that Albert cares about Jet's well-being for whatever reason. It really comes out of nowhere. But whenever Jet flies off to fight badguys on his own Albert's always striking the "Argh!" of "WHY?" pose. When Jet's hurt Albert's the first at his side. In the mythology arc when they're fighting the minotaur together Jet tries to get up and can't, Albert sees this and LOSES HIS SHIT.
Jet doesn't notice because he's pining after Francoise. I don't know who decided this for this continuity (rivalry with Joe?) but I kinda like it. Jet's attempts to flirt with Francoise are always clumsy and hard to watch (with the worst. timing. ever.) and I don't know if we're just supposed to believe he's always like that or because he's aware Francoise is unreceptive to him and he doesn't know how to respond to that. Later in the series it seems as though he's accepted that she's not interested in him but he still cares about her enough to slap Joe upside the head when he hurts her. At the end it seemed implied that the reason (or at least a contributing factor) that Jet flew off into space to save Joe was because he didn't want Francoise to suffer.
But Francoise is, of course, in love with Joe. This is canon, no implications, it's right there for all to see. I mean, and who wouldn't? It's Joe. She's made her affections plain (well maybe not to Joe. I like to pretend the make-out scene in re:Cyborg was Francoise finally having enough and ripping off her clothes to present her boobies because Joe just isn't getting it and then he's like "What...? Oh!) but doesn't try to push him into anything with her. Hence when Joe gets all FEELINGS with other women, 'cause he's the Captain Kirk of the cyborg world, she's clearly hurt but knows he hasn't reciprocated any romantic intentions so she doesn't actually do anything about it. Except snap at Jet and his bad timing.
Because Joe is fighting a war. I'm sure he's well aware of Francoise's affections, but he comes off as kind of "not now" about it. He clearly loves her too, (I ship it yo) but so long as Black Ghost exists that's where his attention lies. Joe is at the head of the line, hands on no one's shoulders but declaring aloud "BLACK GHOST IS EVIL!!!!"
Jet: "DOLPHIN?!"
One of the best one liners from Jet. ;)
