Still cruisin’.
A look out over Nordbotn.
“Botn” is the Norwegian word for the geological feature called a cirque. It’s also a common place name suffix in the country.
Looking down along Norddalen toward Lonkanfjorden.
I think the mountains way off in the distance on the other side of the fjord are, left to right: Rennarvasstinden, Nipa, Jolitinden.
Small plateau area on the way up to the summit. Mountain to left of centre is Durmålstindan.
Rivers flowing down the southwest flank of the mountain, sourced from a few lakes higher up and meltwater from the glacier.
It was off-and-on drizzling and I obviously wanted to keep the rain off, but the exertion of the climb meant a lot of sweat and basically getting soaked from the inside out instead of just from being rained on, so I took my arms out of the sleeves and wore my jacket more like a cape to get some airflow going.
Back on the boat and heading home.
Durmålstindan to the left, and a bit of Memurutinden to the right.
And still waiting.
We started moving again soon, when the guides deemed the visibility to be acceptable for continuing the hike.
