Acylius said, his tone matter of fact.
Hat asked not understand what he meant.
"I'm a doctor or at least I used to be until I grew tired of the mortals , with their fanatics and their greed, no matter how kind you are there will always be someone to stab you in the back."
Flug responded gruffly, his brow furrowed, stroking along Mew Mew Loafs back and tidying up her pretty pink bow.
"Time to get up Mew, I gotta start up the pipes."
The cat made a grumbling sound but climbed off, jumping down to the floor and sat by the rug in front of the fire place
"Wouldn't a bath be best suited for tomorrow, heating the water will take a while, you look like the type to use a metal bath tub."
Amadeus looked down as he spoke, quickly trying to finish his soup incase it was taken away from him, only to hear laughing
"I may have used one about a hundred years ago...but no I have something far more fantastic to show you."
Amadeus set his now empty bowl down , quiet curious to see what this man had to show him.
Acylius stood and pressed a stone on the frame of his fire place , the rug in front of it shifted as there was a loud clank and the rug was pulled back as the stones parted.
"Believe it or not being as old as I am, you get to remember the complex yet old style world of pulleys and chains, ropes and trap doors."
Hat looked down the the spiraling put, stairs that disappeared into darkness then back up at Acylius who seemed particularly proud of himself
"Are you going to eat me ?"
Hat stated , sighing feeling like this had all been too good.
"What no....I've eaten eldericht, you do not taste good, at least for a meal...and they were degenerates who did the most atrocious things, even things that I should imagine would make even your skin crawl...now watch."
Acylius put two fingers in his mouth and whistled, only it was more like a haunting sigh that would pass through the trees late at night.
Mushrooms that lined the walls started glowing a warm yellow hue, revealing how the walls had moss on them to.
Hat swallowed and watched
To be fair this was extremely fascinating to watch but still he has to ask
"Like what degenerative things would you kill someone for?"
Acylius leaned in and whispered what they'd done, smiling as Hat folded his arms
"Good riddance to them then, vile beings."
"Exactly , now if you don't mind, I need to put the fire wood in so tha the bath can start to heat up."
Acylius motioned for him to get moving
"You mean your bath is down there, that's not possible."
Hat returned going to the edge of the stairs.
Acylius lifted him up under his arm grinning, his scarred mouth splitting wide
As they went down the stairs more and more mushrooms came alight , it looked like something you might imagine in a movie with fairy's and down they went further until he saw it , the large stone tree trunk, it was massive this looked more like a pool that a bath
"Why the HELL does it need to be so big...."
Hat's eyes were wide as he stared at the still waters that appeared black , filled with stars, really the reflections of the glowing mushrooms that hung high on the tall ceiling.
"Do you really not know how tall I am?"
Acylius blinked his ears twitching a little
should Acylius show him his bird form?
