Jack Harries: 2012 vs 2013
A year is a very long time.
Plenty of time to mend a broken heart, embark on an apple picking journey (in a haphazardly mismatched ensemble), take 20 (plus) stills of the most photographed Sheepdog in history...
one new, dramatic haircut, 2 trips to King Street, 3 weeks spent renovating our floors, the discovery of my favorite [inexpensive] wine...
104 solo runs, 2 football games, at least 10 new pairs of shoes, 1 trip to D.C. to rendezvous with pen-pals turned friends from the Internet...
Thanksgiving, Christmas, my 30th birthday.
39 new recipe posts, 50-ish scenes from my mirror & loads more via Instagram, a frightening experience with a very sick puppy and an overnight ER stay (by far the scariest thing from the past year), and several horribly-exposed photos thanks to my overzealous attempts to take "artsy" photos (but for real- sorry about that, y'all).
One year has changed lots of things. It's given me beautiful perspective on just how fragile life is. It's given me hope for the future, a new career [!!!], and plenty of tears. It's given me new respect for my partner and teammate that I've chosen for myself. It's humbled me.
I'd sit here and tell you all how mopey I was remembering that one year has passed since we lost the baby but I'm afraid that would be a lie. It will always be a sad experience-- my heart sinking into my stomach that August day-- but as I've learned over the last 365 days, I have SO much else to be thankful for.
And as I continue to make the choice [everyday] to live my life in the PRESENT instead of in the past, I can forever close that door; moving on to focus on all that is good with life.
My, what a difference a year makes!

A Tunisian advertising campaign for the Safia mineral water, broadcasted in 2012, parasiting Evian.
In 2012, Phyllis Logan finally admitted:
(It feels good to say it, doesn’t it Phyllis?!?!)
while Jim Carter and the rest of the Chelsie fandom went:
WHEW, FINALLY!!
Hopefully Julian Fellowes is listening:
(Now start writing Series Four for Chelsie)
*The gifs are not mine but I will happily credit the creator if someone will give me names. lol
