The First Night Dinner Incident Clip Length: 2:48 Source: Horie Yui no Tenshi no Tamago #518 Air Date: 2012.09.02 Personality: Yui Horie Ah France... Well, there were all sorts of little happenings. Right. Hmm... there was the first night dinner incident. So, for the first night's dinner. It was the first day in France, right? Well, the real first day I arrived late at night and went straight to bed. Then the first day was the photo shoot in France. The photo shoot was like: In front the Eiffel Tower. In front of the Arc de Triomphe. Passing by these things. And I thought, "This is France! This is Paris! Ah!" And even though it was night out, everything was so vibrant! Even though it was only 10 o'clock it was so bright out! And with my "France Excitement" maxed out like this, it was time for dinner. I wanted to eat the most France-feeling meal I could get! You know what I mean? With clattering knives and forks! Cling clang! And... Meats with sauces I've never seen before! Where you go, "What's this? It's so good!" This was when I wanted this the most. So, since the dinner menu was all in French, and we couldn't read it, one of the coordinators was going around giving us the basics of the menu. Filet of something or other. What else? Rabbit something or other. Some duck thing. A salmon thing. Those kind of things. And people would say "Yes! Yes!" and raise their hands. And as I was thinking, "What should I get? What should I get?", "Grilled chicken in lemon sauce" was called out. It's gotta be that! Grilled chicken in lemon sauce! I said "Yes!" and raised my hand. I was so excited while I waited for it to come out! And then it arrived. But, any way you looked at it, it was yakitori! [*laughter*] There were no clattering knives and forks, just skewers with chicken stuck on them. What? I thought, "This looks exactly like yakitori." And what's more, there was also a side dish. And I took a glance over at the side dish, and it was unmistakably *rice*. So my first France outing was rice and yakitori! But when I ate the chicken, yeah it was lemon-flavored yakitori. So that was what happened. But, it was good, it was good! But, it was just well, a bit different from what I was expecting!
