Are you all ready for the 2013 Brno Griddlebone?

In this production Gus stays onstage and the memory of his former glory is played by a younger actor. Even more interestingly, Growltiger isn’t a pirate - we don’t know what he is. The whole of the ‘Growltiger’ poem is cut: we go straight from ‘could do it again’ to ‘In una tepida notte’, and from the end of that duet to the reprise of Gus’ song. So he’s just remembering his former operatic career: no racist pirates, raffish crew, or Siamese attacks!

And Jellylorum/Griddlebone is having the time of her life.
