Notes from 57th Presidential Inauguration
It's amazing to be in D.C., to be part of American history. With hundreds of thousands of people crammed into a space much too small for anyone to even be remotely comfortable, everyone has been surprisingly kind. Hardly any complaining, not much pushing, even the babies aren't crying. I thought maybe it's a D.C. thing, but people are here from all over the country, maybe it has to do with race, or economics, maybe because we are all liberal, but my guess is the camaraderie we all feel. We are all here to celebrate President Obama. No man is perfect but when I hear him speak, I believe he genuinely wants the best for all. So even though it is literally freezing and the wait for a jam-packed train is hours long, I, like the vast majority of people, am thrilled to be here. To have been a small part of Obama For America, the organization that lead to this win, leaves me filled with happiness. And even though I couldn't manage to drag my sore, dehydrated body to the Inaugural Ball, I must state my gratitude to OFA for giving me the opportunity to be here today and to have been apart of something that will change the future of politics in America.
