#lochte-gate or #riorobbery-gate happened Sunday #14august at the #2016summerolympics. #ryanlochte has apologized but not completely for everyone’s liking. #brazilianpolice said that Locate lied about being the victim of an #armedrobbery because the video of the 4 swimmers entering the #olympicvillage after the incident showed they had their #watches #jewelry #cellphones and #wallets. They also said the 4 men seemed too relaxed for having been #accosted.
Ryan did not mention that they were drunk and #urinated in the bushes behind the gas station. Other than that the video that has been released is consistent with a toned down version of what happened. Even Gunnar Bentz said in his statement that #securityguards pulled guns on them and wanted money. He also cosigned that there is #missingfootage of the incident. Further these #rentacops let them go after they got some cash instead of holding them until the police showed up. #jamesfeigen gave the gunman cash at the gas station and then had to pay another #11000USD to get his #passport back to leave Brazil. The circulating video clearly shows a man stick a gun into the taxi the swimmers were in. Further the video shows the men on sitting on the ground and Lochte standing up just like he said.
Ryan is guilty of not revealing that they were all drunk and leaving #gunnarbentz and #jackconger to be humiliated by being taken off the plane on their way back to the #usa. Jack Conger released a statement. We still don’t know what James Feigen told police that got him the $11,000 fine.
Brazil needs to explain why it was okay for the security to get cash to release the swimmers from the gas station instead of keeping them until the police showed up. It is definitely armed robbery if someone pulls a gun on you and says they won’t let you leave until you give them money. I do not believe the Brazilian witness Fernando Deluz when he said that those 4 grown men just sat down because they were told to without a gun in their face. Then why was his #translationservices even needed? Brazil needs to release the missing video to disprove that there were guns in the swimmers faces when they were on the ground. But they won’t because those security guards did point guns at Ryan Locate, Jimmy Feign, Gunnar Bents and Jack Conger and would not let them leave without giving them money.
Did the security guards ever give the money they took from the swimmers to the owner of the gas station? If they didn’t then that supports a robbery claim.
