2018 Reflection

2018 was a great year for me for a number of reasons. For one, I bought a tablet for the first time and started drawing again. I even started posting some art stuff on here. I know I can still improve my art a lot but I’m really proud that I started drawing on a semi-regular basis and I hope that in 2019 I can keep it up and get even better!

I also started to get a lot more engaged with the KH community on here this year and I’m really glad I did. The last time I was this engaged was like 5 years ago when I first started my blog.

On that note there were a few blogs I started following this year and some other people who are generally just cool who have really made my tumblr experience awesome in 2018. For instance (this isn’t in any particular order btw lol):

@icing-on-the-icecream : INCREDIBLE ARTIST. They have made screenshot redraws that actually look IDENTICAL to the shots from the game. They also have a really unique and fun art style I really appreciate and love. Also just a general sweetie

@justadorkwithatablet : Another sweetie pie and incredible artist! Super colorful stuff and again, cannot reiterate how sweet they are. They also helped me contain a curse. They know what I’m talking about 

@masteraqua : Amazing, amazing graphics! The softest colors... the coolest perspectives and shots... Also just super nice along with being super talented. Still real sorry about that sweater your aunt made you

@cid : Probably one of the funniest people on this website. And he makes colorful, unique graphics AND DRAWS beautiful buff Terras? We stan a multi-talented queen. 

@kingdomheartsnyctophiliac : Ok I’m sorry but if you don’t follow this blog you don’t have a KH blog. I’m sorry. I don’t make the rules. Great graphics and super cute, detailed pixel art. She’s also working on a fnaf fangame right now which you can check out a trailer for here

@twilightown : Literal champion of the Kingdom Hearts community. I mean she organized an entire Kingdom Hearts countdown movie night for like a MONTH. We love and appreciate that commitment (We’ve also been mutuals for years. Sorry you’ve had to put up with me for that long)

This is just honestly a handful of people. There’s more people who I’ve really appreciated this year, like all of my followers. Especially people who always like my original posts all the time (like @sundaephantasm and @syqko). You have no idea how special that is to me.

I also just wanna give a general thank you to everyone in this community! I know KH fans have a reputation for being really obnoxious, but everyone I’ve interacted with on this site has been nothing but super nice and generous and funny and creative and so committed to this dumb, silly Mickey Mouse game we’ve all bonded over for literal years.

Here’s to an amazing 2019 for all of us! And Happy Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Year!

2018 reflections

This last year was kind of an amazing one for me as far as writing goes. I’ve mentioned a few times that when I picked fanfic back up I’d hit a really rough patch. I had maybe 10k written of a political fantasy and I loved it, but I hated writing it and it got to the point where I thought maybe I just wasn’t cut out to write at all. 

And then I accidentally stumbled upon omegaverse back in January... Tbh I don’t even remember which fic it was, but it was definitely poorly tagged bc I probably wouldn’t have clicked on it if it was tagged properly. I was intrigued, but couldn’t find (m)any gen fics that were a/b/o. So I started writing what has become Good for Goodness, and then You’re Alone. And it just kind of spiraled from there. I certainly never intended to ever post my fics but I’m so glad I did. I’ve gotten to meet all you lovely people and it’s been an amazing time. 

Also, I wrote well over 80k this year and that crushes my previous personal best (50k). I don’t do resolutions, but I’d definitely like to finish Good for Goodness this year and maybe start (at the least)  one more multi chapter fic. I’ve got a couple ideas, but rn I’m trying to focus on rewriting what I lost.

Out with the old and in with the new! 😁

I forgot to post this yesterday 😅 Overall, 2018 was a decent year. It wasn't all that great within the first 2-3 months (winter tends to make me get depressed easily, especially February), but things got better later in the year. I got help for trying to handle my anxiety better and I'm proud of myself for doing that 😊

Here's hoping 2019 will be even better!

2018 has been the first year I’ve ever felt brave enough to share what I create with the online community. It also marked the first year I’d ever used Tumblr, I only joined in last February, can you believe it???

So I felt it was only fitting I threw together a summary of my art and honestly I am so surprised. 2018 was my first learning curve when it came to digital art and eventually being brave enough to venture into more creative areas and experiments with colour. This year I have consistently drawn almost every day and the improvement I have made as an artist is honestly shocking. I ended 2017 basically copying fanworks of other people’s that I thought were cool. But 2018 was the first time I started creating my own original content. 

I took on a lot of art challenges this year that really motivated me to push myself in ways I couldn’t imagine, challenges like ARCV Anniversary Month, Counterpartshipping Week, Rare-Pair and Inktober. Once again I would love to thank the organisers of these events and hopefully I can participate again next year! Of course, the greatest challenges that presented me were the personal requests for you guys! And I realise I was slack on some of them but those I did I hope people enjoy. Towards the end I branched out into my various fandoms on my two side art blogs, @spectral-syzygy and @fullbodyapparition and now for the first time in a long time, I can finally feel proud of what I achieve artistically. 

I look forward to creating more content for you guys in the new year and hopefully improve and learn just as much from you guys as I have in 2018. 

Happy New Year everyone, and thank you all so much for sticking with me and teaching me so much over the last year. I can’t wait to see what you all achieve in 2019! Xx

I still haven’t decided if I’m sticking around or not.  This blog has somewhere in the neighborhood of 15k+ posts and it feels pretty shit just to leave it all behind.  But nothing is permanent and if anything this site has shown me that in spades.  But then, why do we want anything to be permanent? I can say that in ending 2018, I find myself in a very different place than where I had started in 2018. I made wonderful new friends in an active community, my social life has bloomed significantly, I lost so much weight and gained confidence along the way.  My Pathfinder campaign has been going for almost a year now too!  Most importantly, I was able to leave behind the toxicity in my life that made me feel unworthy, so that I could actually live again.  And last but not least, I found love! 2019 will continue to improve for me, and while I may not show it here, I will still be around.  I’m always around >D If you want to follow my doodles on twitter, you can find me at: https://twitter.com/OwMyArtBones I am also quite active on discord, please PM me for my friend code! xx

so i decided to do a little 2018 reflection, since 2018 was a really good year for me:

traveled outside of my home country for the first time ever

graduated from high school

started college

moved 2 hours away from my hometown

ended my most toxic friendship

met the best group of friends i’ve ever had

went on my first date

passed all of my AP exams (with 4s)

learned how to ride a skateboard

while i have gone through a lot of emotional turmoil this year, it ended up becoming a good thing because my priorities are more clear to me now than they’ve ever been.

2019 resolution: be more open with myself and others and to overcome my fears

13.Did an actor/actress catch your attention for the first time this year?I got really into Anna Kendrick this year. Like into her. Before she was just there and pretty and funny but then the lady boner hit and I was like ??????????? 

17. Did you make any big permanent changes this year?This entire year has been made with big permanent changes. I graduated college, got a teaching job, then quit the teaching job and now I’m a teen librarian. This year has been wild and stressful so 2019 better bring me some god damn peace
