How to make some plans for new 2018 year

Remember how to wonderful or not this 2017 year was and then you can start making some plans for the ongoing year. We prepared some tips helping you to make the plans and set new goals for new year of your life. So, let’s try to start!

What you need:

3 hours of free time. Take care that nothing distracts you.

A large sheet of paper and stickers. It is better to write on paper, but a computer will do.

Pen and colored markers.

A table or a board to decompose all writings.

Diary, calendar and other notes to remember what happened in a year.

Close people. You can perform this exercise alone, but a discussion with loved ones will give more benefit.

Step #1 Think about last year

Look through your photos, records in the diary, calendar, correspondence with close people. So you remember what you did and experienced this year. Set the timer for one hour and proceed.

Then answer the following questions:

What were the main events of the year? What caused you a feeling of pride, joy, love?

What difficulties have you encountered? What caused your pain, caused anger or sadness?

What did you learn in a year? What did the others learn about themselves, other people, the world?

For each question, select three minutes. If you are doing an exercise with a loved one, discuss what surprised you, what you particularly remember, how these events influenced on you, what you will remember in five years.

Step #2 Give an estimation to your now life

Think in what life spheres everything is good, and what needs extra attention. Estimate each sphere from 1 to 5 in terms of how satisfied you are with them: 1 - completely unsatisfied, 5 - completely satisfied.

For example, spheres can be such: health, communication, family, creativity, career, finances, emotional well-being.

Think about why you put such an estimate. What do you lack in this or that sphere? What needs to be changed?

Step #3 Set goals for next year

Answer the questions, highlighting for each of three minutes:

What do you want to achieve? What do you want to learn? Write down everything that comes to your mind. This is your big list.

What 3-5 points from the big list will make the next year especially successful?

Choose what is really important to you. This is your short list.

Step #4 Choose the destination

Make a realistic plan of action. Doing this, consider such items, again highlighting for each of three minutes:

Key points. Every three months you have to go through the next point. So you will see that you are moving in the right direction.

New skills. What habits and attitudes do you need to achieve your goals?

Connections. Who needs to build or strengthen a relationship? Who can inspire and support you on your path?

Bad habits. What will it be necessary to refuse?

Write down on the big leaf the goals and the basic steps to achieve them. Put reminders on the calendar in three, six and nine months to track your progress throughout the year.

Now you have a sheet with the achievements and lessons of the past year in front of yourself. Now clear goals for a new one. Keep it in sight, so as not to forget what you have already achieved and what you are aiming for.
