Next up in our Top 2018 Moments is the Opening Celebration of Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power. Coming in as #3, the sold out event featured a daylong symposium that brought together many of the revolutionary artists in the exhibition. Afterwards, we closed out the night at our horn-infused dance party with @soulinthehorn.

The #4 spot in our Top 2018 Moments goes to the opening of Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960–1985. We celebrated canon-expanding exhibition with a daylong program of tours, conversation, and performance with many of the pioneering Latin American and Latina artists in Radical Women. We especially love this picture of their joyous mini-reunion!⠀ ⠀ We want to know your favorite 2018 Museum moment and why it was so memorable! We think that those lucky enough to snag a ticket to our epic Night of a 1,000 Bowies Dance Party will agree that it takes its rightful place as #2 in our Top 2018 Moments. Thank you to our partners House of Yes and Little Cinema for throwing an out of this world event that honored the many faces of Bowie!

Marking #7 on our list of Top 2018 Moments are the many performances that took place here at the Museum. Throughout the year, we opened our doors and galleries to dozens of artists who expressed themselves though performance, visual art, literature, music, and everything in between. A selection of featured artists, just to name a few, include Cecilia Vicuña, David Levine, Little Cinema, House of Yes, and all those involved in our #Rodin100 and #RadicalWomenBKM series.

Next up in our Top 2018 Moments is our Soul of a Nation activation at @afropunk this past August. The weekend was full of good vibes, good music, and good company while we connected with the community outside of the Museum. For all those reasons, that's why it makes the list as #9! Our Top 2018 Moment #8 was when artist Do Ho Suh brought his old Chelsea apartment to its new home at the Museum, handing over his preverbal keys and memories to a new generation of New Yorkers to enjoy.

The coveted #1 spot in our Top 2018 Moments goes to our Community Day Celebration for Something to Say! The free family-friendly event transformed our outdoor Plaza into a play zone of music, snacks, karaoke, and art-making and offered an opportunity to meet artists Brooklyn Hi-Art! Machine, Deborah Kass, Kameela Janan Rasheed, and Hank Willis Thomas. Here's to many more community celebrations in 2019!
