A distant buzzing comes from outside Eva’s tank. It gets closer and closer until it stops short in front of said tank, the noise shifting to sound almost curious. While she cannot see what it is, a certain darkness seems to hover around the object.

Every party, she would be invited. She'd show up. She'd find the nearest window or balcony and stare off into the distance.
Some days, Atla felt she was indifferent to the others.
Some days, Atla wasn't sure how she felt.
Those days became increasingly common.
