CATS Holiday Gift Exchange INTEREST CHECK !!!

Exactly what the title says! Have any interest in participating in what is basically the yearly tradition that I have taken over of a Holiday Gift Exchange? Well, Im opening up the interest check. This exchange will run no matter what, I just like gathering Initial Data. For myself.

Before you reach the link, here are some rules and a general run-down:

This is a CATS themed Holiday gift exchange! I do it every year, the basis is just that you sign up and you put down your general intersts in relation to the CATS musical, which can mean ships/favorite characters/ocs and someone else will make you something that is related to those interests in some way. You will also be making something for someone else. All assignments are completely random. You can create fanart, fanfic, a playlist, a collage; anything original! Do NOT trace over other peoples artwork, and do NOT use generative AI in the creation of your work. I have seen people create playlists, crochet, physical paintings; anything is possible as long as you can take a good photo of it to show to the recipient. Proshippers cannot join (this feels obivous we use Mistocord for a lot of this and we all know the rules for that server.) You cannot request nor can you make NSFW art for this event, as it is for all ages. All general things that fall under these two categories are also a no go. If you need clarification on anything then PLEASE ask me; either in the form question section or in my tumblr DMS or Discord DMS.

I obviously have not addressed every little teeny bit about it here, but a basic summary of how it goes. If there is anything you have more questions or concerns about then you can put it into the spot where I say "Do you have any questions/comments/concerns that I should address in the official sign-up".

I will close this check around mid-October and put up the official sign-up form a bit after that. I will also release exact timeline dates, but know you will have like. 3 months to work on things. (November to end of Januaryish; I understand the post-Christmas business and don't want anything to end on that exact date.)

listen, call me a purist or whatever but i think 90% of the reason cats! doesn't work as a film is because so much of that show is the experience. it's the feel of the theatre, the stage, the actors running around in cat costumes.

there's exactly 0% percent plot in that show, it is 100% vibes.

watching cgi cats for 90 minutes doesn't make me feel like i'm tripping on shrooms. it just exhausts me.

and we ain't gonna go into the no homo-ing of that whole show. that's been talked about to death, but, you know; note it. (shut up, ok, shut up, tugger and mistofelees are fucking, leave me alone)

the show feels like exactly what it it is: the end product of three week long cocaine binge. the movie feels like a movie exec said 'what? it's about cats? fuck it, put taylor swift in it, i don't care.'

and like, here's the thing: you probably could do cats as a film. you'd have to have a team behind it who are experienced in adapting broadway shows to film.

it wouldn't be the same, of course, noting the above elements.

but if you got a team who knew this show, who knew how to work broadway into film and who knew not to fucking use cgi, then sure. i think it'd be worth seeing.

the movie we got? that was not worth seeing.

Forbidden tuggoffelees ( + surprise! )

Tapper opened the door to his den, and threw his hat to the floor. Just like always he had come home late from a show...again. He walked to the bedroom and opened the door.

The light was off, as it often was, and the glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling were bright as ever. The moon gave a soft glow, that illuminated the room enough to compliment the purple curtains. The lava lamp gave a red and orange glow, but stopped once Tapper unplugged it.

Tapper turned his attention to the bed, Mistoffelees was asleep. Tapper thought about what Mistoffelees had said, "I'll stay up for you!" he had promised. Tapper couldn't blame him for falling asleep, it was incredibly late.

Tapper took off his shirt and threw it to the side, then climbed into bed. After a few moments of twisting and turning, he found him self comfortably laying in Mistoffelees arms. His head buried in the fur on Mistoffelees' chest

Then he heard it. The sound of someone choking on their sobs. "Buttons?" Tapper hesitantly whispered.

"I thought that...that you...Tapper..." Mistoffelees whispered back, burying his head into Tapper's neck.

"Mistoffelees hey...what's wrong? C'mon, you can tell me.."

"I thought....that you weren't coming home..." Mistoffelees couldn't hold it in any longer, he began sobbing. "I missed you!"

"Mistoffelees...don't cry! I missed you too! I'm here now! I'm here..." Tapper began to play with Mistoffelees' ears, that always calmed the tux down. Not long after, Mistoffelees breathing began to steady, but he had a tight grasp on Tapper's body. "I'm here now, alright? No need to cry..shhh~ See? I'm not gonna leave you, I promise." Tapper whispered into the magician's ear.

Tapper knew know what he'd do tomorrow. He'd spend all day cuddling with Mistoffelees.

(Angst, the surprise was angst! *evil laughter*)
