Takaki Yuya's Fine Debut

Finally someone realised how fine Yuya is and make him a regular model for their magazine! I've included the actual pages.
I attempted to clean up some of the text but there's only so much I can only my phone.

ウーパールーパーはカエルやオオサンショウウオと同じ両生類のなかまです。
カエルはエラ呼吸をするオタマジャクシから肺呼吸のカエルへと変態します。同じくオオサンショウウオも、幼生は外鰓(がいさい)というエラを持っているのですが、大人になるとそれはなくなって肺呼吸になっていきます。
が、ウーパールーパーは、大人になってもエラ(外鰓)が消えずにそのまま残っているのです。それがあの、顔まわりのピラピラというわけなのですが。エラがそのまま残っているので、カエルやオオサンショウウオのように陸上に出ることはなく、主に水の中で暮らしているというわけです。(一応肺呼吸の機能も持っているらしいが)
ウーパールーパーのように、変態をせずに幼生の時の姿のままで成体になる生物のことを幼形成熟と呼んでいます。
しかしウーパールーパーも、飼育下ではまれに変態をすることがあるそうなのです。
今回の企画展では、その変態したウーパールーパーが展示されていました。
↓それが、こいつです。
岩に隠れていてしっかりとは見えなかったのですが、ウーパールーパーのチャームポイントであるピラピラがなくなっていて……何かオオサンショウウオの小型版のような？？のっぺりとした何か？？？
そして陸上に進出している……。
ちょっと不気味な姿なので、やっぱりウーパールーパーには、いつまでも子供の時の姿と心を持ち続けてほしいなと思ったのでした。
