My second set for From Broadcast to Social Media.
The first image is a very simple illustration of the competition between traditional news media and the twitter news tweets. Because Twitter can provide instantaneous updates on news, with multiple perspectives - something broadcast media can't compete with. The second image is a political cartoon but it serves the purpose of defining the role of the Broadcast media as one-to-anyone. There is a target audience, but a vague one, ill-defined.
The third marks the evolution of broadcast media. From printing press to digital replication, traditional broadcasting has evolved to include 24 hour updates, sharing/highlighting stories, and a whole host of apps.
The fourth, is an example to one to one, or few communication. I thought the image of the poke added a nice contrast from the other forms of communication, in that it's very direct and specialised.
The fifth and sixth relate to the consequences of this new system. As we share and upload, comment and review, we are increasingly visible. Privacy settings can only go so far in protecting you as something your friends share is then subject to their settings. But it's not your friends that are the only things to worry about it. Companies can see you. Organisations can see you. Can study you. Can learn you.
