Best train shots of the Bodensee Rundfahrt

Long post coming up! I'm just going to describe the photos with a few remarks, before some notes on how the Bodensee S-Bahn operates. Until I get a masterpost up, if you've missed the Bodensee round trip, here's the final post and there are links to work backwards from there.

Allensbach, Germany. SBB Seehas RABe 521 FLIRT on a S6 local service between Engen and Konstanz.

Radolfzell, Germany. DB Regio BR 650 RegioShuttle Diesel railcar about to depart at sunset on a S61 local service to Stockach.

Überlingen, Germany. DB Regio BR 245 Traxx DE Diesel loco with Dosto carriages in tow on a rapid RE3 service to Friedrichshafen. Radolfzell to Friedrichshafen is the only non-electrified section on the lines around the Bodensee, and this (gorgeous) tunnel in particular might be the sticking point to get the whole circuit electrified.

Nonnenhorn, Germany. DB Regio BR 425 on a RB93 local service between Lindau and Friedrichshafen about to leave Bavaria.

Bregenz Hafen, Austria. ÖBB Rh 4748 Desiro ML, likely on a S1 service to Lindau, about to pass the Nostalgiebad Mili.

Bregenz, Austria. Not a Bodensee train, but a chance at this station to hear the "do-re-mi" of an ÖBB Rh 1116 Taurus on start-up, pushing a Railjet service to Vienna, IIRC.

Rorschach, Switzerland. Appenzeller Bahnen BDeh 3/6 heads for Rorschach Hafen, the terminus of its S25 service. This one-of-a-kind unit runs on normal tracks and on the rack railway up to Heiden.

Ermatingen, Switzerland. SBB Thurbo RABe 526 GTW on a S1 local service from Feuerthalen to Wil, via Romanshorn.

Bodensee S-Bahn map. All the routes used on the trip, including Seelinie and Höribus buses, appear on this map. The network is across three countries and operations are split between DB Regio (Radolfzell-Lindau and the RE2 between Radolfzell and Konstanz), ÖBB (Lindau to St Margrethen) and SBB (St Margrethen-Konstanz-Stein am Rhein, plus the S6 between Radolfzell and Konstanz). Going around the large lake, the Obersee, requires seven different trains! But this can drop to five if you get a direct S7 service between Lindau and Romanshorn, which does exist, but operates most frequently on weekends (ad for the extended S7 on a Thurbo GTW below).

1, 2 or 3 countries in one train. With the S7 direct from Romanshorn to Lindau-Insel. No changes, under 60 minutes.

No train currently goes all the way around, but if I can have a brief moment of fiction, what would that look like? Well, all the tracks are standard gauge, electrified lines are on the same voltage, so there's just differences in signalling, which can be overcome as a EuroCity from Zürich to Munich uses the Bodensee route via Bregenz... and that pesky non-electrified zone between Radolfzell and Friedrichshafen. So a train capable of going around the lake would have to be a Diesel, a bi-mode or a battery-electric unit - on catalogue or already in the area, a German BR 563 Mireo Plus B or a Swiss-built FLIRT Akku would do the trick.

i made one of these for connor and i just found this in my drafts from a year ago. i meant to go back into the game to take more screenies for kara and add more to this post but i forgot and now my game files got reset and the screenshots got nuked so i'll just post this as is u_u; (i really should replay the game to unlock all the models again)

details i noticed about kara's model (uniform edition)

firstly, i kinda love her boots shoes situation. tho the fabric is giving sock shoe, i can't say no to a chelsea boot jsfklsjdflsjdl. also!!! i never noticed how the front of her pants have that front seam and the hem has a lil triangle cutout along the seam. it's hella cute. (the rest of the pants are NOT as cute tho)

it's very practical for cyberlife to have reinforced the knee area of the pants. if you're a house android made for clean-up it makes sense that you'd be kneeling down to clean floors and bathtubs and toilets and etc. the two types of fabric textures is an interesting choice tho. the inner fabric doesn't seem like it would be that waterproof which kinda seems less practical.

the built-in clear apron makes sooooo much sense. tho it's kind of a wonder why the entire outfit isn't mostly this material. cause it's unlikely androids are washing their own clothing that often and with that clear plastic apron i don't think this kind of material that can just be thrown into a washing machine. so it kinda feels like it would be better for the whole thing to be covered in plastic to prevent it from getting dirty since it would be just a simple wipe down. it's not like they cyberlife is worried about how comfortable it would be for an android to wear u_u; the only reason it's probably built this way is for the aesthetic

honestly the more i look at the dress, the more i think it is a pretty cute cut and design (minus the apron). but i have no idea what these little metal things on her side and back are supposed to be. there's either some fashion history i'm missing that gives context to it or like maybe there's magnetic tools/attachments that are like add-ons for your android??? either way idk what tf is going on with those things.

biggest thing to note here is that her cyan triangle android identification thingy is CRACKED (fuck you todd)

just appreciating her profile here. kara is so pretty. tho i do wonder how the heck her hair-do works. also, it's pretty obvious to me that each android has like a default hairstyle they come with. but i wonder if humans ever tell their android to mix it up a bit and try on different hairstyles. kinda like a dress-up doll. there's no way there isn't some rich human out there using their androids just to dress them up.

okay and last thing, i just wanna shower some appreciation for her neck freckles!!! they're so cute <3333

i originally was gonna have way more screenshots to analyze but (insert same reasoning as the top of post).

anyway, if i ever get the motivation to crack open the game again i'll probably do one for markus. he's got sooooo many outfits tho it's gonna be hard to choose which ones to overanalyze first.

it's kara month so i had to do a quick redraw of kara in her cool ass looking concept fit ^_^

shoutout to @reiro02 and her version of this outfit!!! thanks for bringing this concept outfit to my dash and always spreading the kara love <333

i usually go for black-haired kara when i draw her but went with white-haired this time bc i like the contrast of it against the black of her outfit. (i just realized it's also the same color they used in the concept design so maybe i was subconsciously influenced jKSJKSDJ) i also upped the saturation of the colors bc... i like colors.

tbh i couldn't figure out if the lil strap on her fit connected to like a bag or like a pocket??? it's kinda unclear. i THINK it's a bag and there's also pockets but i just drew the bag bc kara needs ample room to hide her gun SOMEWHERE.

ALSO i was STRUGGLING to draw her hood. i could not figure it out for some reason. i think i landed on something that conveys the original shape well enough tho.
