my wish is for somebody to buy the detroit become human ip and do a game remake or a tv show series where you flesh out the female characters more. bc north is a very interesting character from the little we have of her. her identity as an android, a former sex worker, and a woman very convincingly informs why she is so strongly dismissive of the pacifist route: she unfortunately knows first hand that simply asking for humanity and dignity doesn't work and has seen pretty much the worst of how humans treat androids when they think they can get away with it. and so it makes sense that she thinks the only course of action is attacking first rather than trying to reason with humans for their liberation.
but alas david cage flattens her character for his ahistorical unconvincing "no violence!!!:( just be real niceys and the oppressors will say sorry and give u ur rights" narrative and he also ignores the trauma north would probably have regarding romance and sex and gives her a very hamfisted romance with markus which is extremely easy to accidentally pursue even if markus chooses a complete pacifist route, as if north wouldn't value her activism over a romantic interest. she also isn't fleshed out beyond her trauma and her rage. where's her moments of happiness outside of her activism? what is she fighting for? what are her hobbies? what is her ideal life after liberation is achieved for androids? we really don't know because jericho members, especially north, are so underdeveloped.
somebody recommend me a north fic that expands on her character and her activism/role as a leader in jericho plz plz plz ^_^*
