Sunday!!
Dinner at my neighbors house. I workout so I can enjoy moments like this. #FitLife #foodporn #foodphotography #foodie #liveitdontdiet #20in12 (at Shaw, Washington, D.C.)
BEYOND THE SCALE. The number on the scale looks good. My weight is going down. I've lost 17.5 pounds since April. My BMI is going down also. I'm just 2.5 points away from being in a healthy range. But what's disturbing is that I'm losing muscle mass... even though I'm lifting heavy weights. Now it's not a big loss but the number is still going in the wrong direction. That says to me I'm not getting enough protein. I'm lifting to gain muscle, not lose it! I'll be making an adjustment to my meal planning staring TODAY. By the way, my data is courtesy of my Withings scale and accompanying app.
I met my daily activity goal! #misfit http://misfit.com/
Here's my Hump Day Wednesday workout. I'm still getting it in but I've hit a plateau. The weight isn't coming off at my desired frequency. I'm going to stick with it... BUT I am disappointed. Now I guess it's time to prove what I'm made of.
I met my daily activity goal! Today was an elliptical interval day. I'm more than a little proud of myself. I missed my afternoon and evening workout. But (!!!) after a lot of negotiating with myself, I committed to getting to the gym after my evening class. That meant hitting the gym at 9pm tonight -that's a first for me- and getting in a 45 minute workout in. But now I'm hungry. What does one eat at 11:00 PM at night after a touch workout? #misfit http://misfit.com/
Fitness Friday Chronicles: I'm still sore but (!!!) not nearly as sore as I was after that workout on Sunday. WHEW! That took three days to bounce back from. But I pushed through, worked out, rested, listened to my body and recovered. I stuck to my diet, ate really well and so far have only had two glasses of champagne this week. For me... two glasses of wine by Friday... that's darn near a miracle! LOL!!! The Good News: I'm on track to lose 1.5 pounds again this week for a total weight loss of 14 pound. The Better News: My body fat is down and I'm only 2.4 points away from being in my ideal BMI range. Cloths are fitting better and I moved up two belt loops. Also really good news - probably the best news - my resting heart rate and blood pressure are both down. I'm sleeping better at night... not longer 😩 but more restful. That means I have more energy to workout.
Fitness Chronicles: My Workout Recovery Kit -- Last night's recovery from my brutal workout on Sunday consisted of a 3 mile walk, two Advil and soaking in Epson salt. I lit candles, burned incense and listened to soothing music to help me relax while I soaked some of the pain away. I followed that up with Icy Hot (they make it in a no-mess roll on) and got a good night's sleep. This morning I'm good to go! I'm going to do my morning yoga, eat a high protein breakfast then I'm out the door. Today is a recovery day but I think I'll do a relaxing swim at lunch. Have a fit day, everyone.
