Just finished the first zoom session for #20kin5DaysMay and wrote 1289 words during the 3 1/2 sessions. I'm feeling pretty good about these words because I've also caught fire on this story. I finally truly understand my characters and the plot. There's something to be said about a group of writers coming together for a common goal. The energy is palpable. Earlier this morning I pulled the 1st card for me, the 2nd for 20K, and the 3rd for my story. Happy Monday. Coming off a long weekend, I should be rested and recharged, right? When the alarm went off at 6:20, I groaned. Definitely could have used one more day. I did get some tasks done like organizing some Trello boards around my writing goals, setting up newsletter boards (now I just need subscribers for all this incredible content I'm about to put out), and set up a social media board although I have loads to do there. Speaking of writing goals, I had an excellent group meeting hosted by the founder of #20kin5days Tasha Harrison. We worked on SMARTER goals and I have some bite-sized chunks where I'm not feeling overwhelmed anymore. That's where i learned more about Trello too.Tasha is a gem! Whew. If you've seen my stories, you know I participated in the #20kin5days challenge. That's an average of 4000 words a day. I've never written over 3000 and that was rare. I didn't get a chance to write the first day but still ended up with almost 18K words. That's amazing. The encouragement from the other authors on the zoom write-ins was incredible. I highly recommend! I'll definitely be using this book to wrangle all those new words.
