It’s my birthday today, 22 December. I complete 49 years. It is the first birthday ever with strong feelings about the spiritual aspect of my life.

For a few years now, my Facebook birthday update has been about my physical health. With fingers crossed, I have said the same thing: I have not been detected with any chronic ailments yet. At 40++, it matters. My fingers remain crossed in 2023 as well. I continue praying for another year of decent physical health.

However, it is no longer my first prayer. My first and foremost prayer on any given day now is for more spiritual blessings. I want to grow spiritually in leaps and bounds.

Through all of last night’s meditation I perceived sounds coming from my head. What a blessing it is to have an interiorised sense of hearing while meditating. It keeps the attention on the point of the sound perceived. I want more.
