Taking an early humanities course and we just covered Hinduism and Buddhism. They say that selfish desires are impure because of the attachment to satisfaction and reward, because then lack of expected reward leaves one unsatisfied, opening one to anger and bewilderment which is inability to discern wise action.
To fulfill dharma or reach nirvana one should detach from those selfish desires. One should find satisfaction or bliss in the action itself. It's like we train animals by giving them a reward to associate action with satisfaction but eventually give fewer treats, but we are capable of understanding that what needs to be done is the work without reward because it won't always be there, and to find nirvana we have to get used to work without result.
Ofc this could have been a way to keep people in the caste in line after it had been established before buddhism and jainism, but it relates to the chakras which I'm really into too.
A balanced root chakra is capable of locking in to survive without the need for rigid external control because it lives for the sake of living. The ability to relax is unlocked by living without fear of threat or overcompensation by threatening others.
A balanced sacral chakra finds pleasure in the act of creation and creativity. Pleasure is found by allowing emotion to stem from the sensation of living with variety and comes from interaction not from fulfilling craving.
A balanced solar chakra becomes confident from the ability to perform the work not from the result. It doesn't need to outshine and doesn't shy from failure.
A balanced heart chakra shows kindness because it loves regardless of grief. It has its own understanding that grief can either create more grief or soothe with forgiving harmony.
A balanced throat chakra expresses honestly without deceitful motives when one understands oneself and loves themselves for it, resonating with others to feel free to express too.
A balanced third eye seeks understanding for its own sake. It doesn't hide from revelation or delude itself in ignorance. Satisfaction comes from the search of more clarity not from the achievement of understanding because the universe can never be fully understood. So one who thinks they see everything is limited by their own boundary of belief.
When all these are balanced, the crown finds bliss in existence and open mindedness. Joy and wonder come from new thoughts, shared experiences, peace, and liberation of energy from possibility and physicality.
Energy becomes purified and satisfying through its cultivation without craving the reward of its usage. Kundalini energy is a potent energy analogous to super saiyan in that its maintained through purity. If goku couldn't handle the power it presented he wouldn't be able to stay in that form. Great power can bring great upliftment or a great fall.
