opting in ||marlene & peter ||21.8.1978
He'd made the choice last minute, he'd been thinking about just staying at the flat since it was the firs night he'd had off in weeks. And usually if he got a day off he spent it sleeping straight on through. The boys were going to go, some of the stag ( the joke had been made there was no taking it back when they started saying they were going Prongs ), the stag himself probably meeting up with Lily. He'd bowed out at first, waving them off to go drop himself into bed. It wasn't like he wasn't more interested in his sheets than some party, sorry Gala. It was a massive hoity toity affair and he just wasn't interested.
Until he'd heard through the din in the conversation in the other room that Marlene wasn't going. Opting to stay at home in her pajamas. While it sounded like her and he was opting for the same thing something didn't set right. After about an hour there was no noise to alert him that anyone was home, his eyes dropped slowly but he couldn't settle his mind. He tossed and turned a bit before getting up and trudging through the house to where James had nearly thrown a suit at him to urge him to go.
So here he was, knocking on Mars door. He leaned against the frame until she opened, looking her up and down for a moment before his brow raised. He was in a suit of all things, but his cigarette was hanging from his lip as always. "Got a dress?"
