Magia Record’s anime is like. Almost feeling like a dream come true in a sense. Because like, I love magical girls, obviously. And specifically I adore Madoka styled magical girls the most. And this obviously has loads of those. And I’m also really into magical girl action. And all 4 episodes of season 2 so far have had some fuck off drop dead gorgeous sakuga action sequences with episode 4′s one being perhaps the best yet. I also really like these sorts of mystery-driven narratives about uncovering the mechanics behind how a system operates. In episode 4 we learn how Magius are feeding emotions to witches and keeping doppels that have lost control in fucking quarantine. And then this is all done by Magius in service of rising against Kyubey, but then our girls are trying to rise against Magius. That’s 3 major factions all playing a key part in this narrative - 2 of those factions being made up of a bunch of very different people with very different feelings and goals. It’s genuinely just riveting. This feels so for me. Really loving it.
