You pass by one of your completed doomsday devices. You promised you'd build it for an especially powerful and influential member of the nautical aristocracy, in return for his collusion during your campaigns.

Why would one of the sea trolls want a doomsday device? If they know about Sburb, they should know the world is ending regardless of what they do, so this thing is completely pointless. 

If they don’t know about Sburb, then what’s their goal? Are they going to hold the world to ransom, or something? We haven’t seen a troll this self-destructive yet, and I can’t wait to learn more.

It was tough to build, and isn't perfect yet. Luckily one of your pals nearby is pretty handy with technology.

Sollux could do it, but I don’t see him being friendly with Vriska - and he’s working to save the troll race, so I don’t know why he’d build something to end it.

No, our engineer is probably Vriska’s fellow blue-blood, CT the roboticist.

Jeez, this thing is snacking on more trolls than I thought - I was picturing something more truck-sized than house-sized. Just how big can a lusus get, anyway?

Spidermom’s left fang is the same shape as one of Vriska’s horns - a shape also shared by GA and her lusus. They’re both insectoid lusi, so maybe they’re related. 

The infant Vriska built a castle, complete with towers, pillars and arches. Typical blueblood.
