The Hot Spot is a 1990 American neo-noir romantic thriller film directed by Dennis Hopper, based on the 1953 novel Hell Hath No Fury by Charles Williams, who also co-wrote the screenplay. It stars Don Johnson, Virginia Madsen, and Jennifer Connelly, and features a score by Jack Nitzsche played by John Lee Hooker, Miles Davis, Taj Mahal, Roy Rogers, Tim Drummond, and drummer Earl Palmer.

Another question, Scratch? I can see why this would be disturbing for you. 

Scratch clearly can’t scry on what Vriska’s up to, and his deductive abilities are an imperfect tool. Until he solves this little conundrum, Scratch is vulnerable.

Cheating is, of course, very on-brand for Vriska. But how is she doing it?

This is the ‘game’ that Vriska and Scratch are playing together. The board is a replica of a double-prototyped Battlefield, so I assume the game is somewhat analogous to chess.

There’s also a triple-prototyped Battlefield in the background. Vriska isn’t Scratch’s only opponent.

Vriska’s method doesn’t just work on Doc Scratch. She’s also been using it to cheat against Terezi - in a FLARP, I presume. This suggests what she’s doing isn’t tied to the rules of this Battlefield-game, but is a general method, which gives her an advantage in all sorts of scenarios. 

...yeah, I’ve got nothing. I usually have some sort of theory in scenarios like this, but the possibility space is just too large, and we don’t even know the rules of the games she’s cheating at. There’s no way to narrow it down.
