turns out when you weigh literally nothing you have lots of options for getting around.
Built for Spindlewheel but compatible with any oracle, the Magician's Divinations are 12 simple spreads designed to facilitate little pockets of narrative and meaning. Some of them describe places, circumstances, hazy dreams or glimpses into the otherworldly; others, like tarot spreads, describe a possibility space.
Now available on itch.io for a cup of coffee, but you can get it for as low as $1 on patreon!
My OC, Virgil, knocking some of the dust off of the art side of this blog. ^_^;
I'm on the hunt for OC's to draw! I want to hear about your campaign or the one shot that won't leave your brain or the blorbo you rotate on a regular basis (or even a blorbo you have all but forgotten about!)--whoever is living in your head rent-free.

There comes an ebb to the passage of heroes through the eye of Tartarus, and after a long spell answering questions and shaping the future, things start to get a little…unserious. So to let off a little steam, the Three (sometimes witches, sometimes fates, sometimes furies, always at least four opinions between them) play a little game that the Eldest/Crone/Atropos stole from the future.
We know it as Texas Hold Em and the rules are more or less the same except that it's played with a tarot deck. See, the Three are storytellers of the highest order, and even in play they keep their skills sharp. It's all about following symbols, right…? Asking the question, and then finding the patterns between your two cards and the table's five for the most interesting--if not the most optimal--answer.
They bet with river stones, puzzle pieces, collectible cards from other games, pages of books, little poems, photographs, maybe even poker chips. It doesn't much matter except it feels good in the hand. Mostly the queries are made up and the answers don't matter. Until…
Well, until a querent comes along clutching his only two coins in the world in his hands and the only question that matters to him on his tongue. Then, the Three have something to argue about.
There are three ways to win a round:
One is the simplest path: make the best hand with the cards you're dealt. Bet the other players into submission. Win all the chips in the pot. You can't play if you've got nothing to ante. The other two are up to the querent to award: The best answer, and the worst answer. The querent has two coins to award. He can award them one to each, or both to one. Coins are metal, or chocolate, or wafer, but their value is significantly different than a chip's. Coins can be anted or pocketed or eaten or traded away at their victor's leisure.
The Three aren't hard to find. Follow the booming cackles and pipe smoke till you find the Querent rules posted outside the door: NO REFUNDS NO PROXIES NO BACKSTORIES NO STRAIGHT TALK NO COMPLAINTS KEEP IT SHORT AND SWEET
So go on in. Ask your question. Don't expect gravitas or great truth--you'll get what you get. Be honest with your reward. Or trade your coin for buy-in, take a seat, and try to play the Three at their own game. Who knows? You could walk away with the Eye. Just be careful. Over millennia some 'house rules' have popped up…but who can keep track of them all to say what's cheating and what isn't?
Spindlewheel Romance finally has a physical edition!
No longer restrained to digital play, now you can send beautifully manufactured cards to and fro with your Oracle de Bergerac, or loop string across the Love Machine you build together! This print edition includes the full deck in a custom box as well as a zine print of the rules.
Production and shipping take about 1-2 weeks, so be sure to order yours soon!
The moment you've been waiting for is here! That's right: I'm opening orders for Custom Angel Trueform Portraits! These are full render, full color, full background, completely custom designs. If you know my regular rates, you'll note that these are a steal.
$100: Ophanim
Famous for the go-to "biblically accurate" angel design, ophanim are two burning intersecting wheels covered in jeweled eyes. This is the most abstract of the angels, and I'm ready willing and able to get really weird with it.
$200: Seraphim
The most humanoid of the three on offer, seraphim have three sets of wings: one to fly with, one to cover their face, and one to cover their feet. If you are looking to stay relatively traditional but still strange and unsettling, this is the one to go for.
$300: Cherubim
The most complicated of the three, cherubim have four heads and a chimera-like body involving all four species' traits and more. If you have a favorite bird, equine, and feline, and are content with nothing but the finest most complicated character designs, this is for you!
At all levels is included a custom portrait of the angel's beloved (you or whoever you're getting this for) to help portray the angel's scale. Please provide a portrait and a full body photo reference as well as an idea for the outfit you'd like them to be wearing.
Send me a message here or on fiverr to get yours while they last!
I'm happy to introduce J.A.C. Clark's latest deck, Uncharismatic Megafauna! It's a 15 card love letter to the strange and wonderful creatures that have come and gone on this planet. If you've ever gotten emotional looking at fossils, this is the deck for you.
