It's time for Trilobite Tuesday! While searching the outcrops of Alabama’s 515 million-year-old Rome Formation, scientists made a remarkable discovery. They uncovered fossil trackways, known as Cruziana, which indicated that some olenellid trilobites—such as Mesonacis georgiensis—had started journeying onto land… or at least onto sea-adjacent tidal flats, perhaps in search of food or to deposit their eggs, before quickly returning to the relative safety of their maritime homes.
