he slowly asphyxiated. saturday was coming to an end and daniel couldn’t feel any more relieved━ more free.
unfortunately, he had been caught up with yet another business meeting. four hours wasted, he thought. four, long hours gone like his unfathomable interest. he was never able to pinpoint the purpose of business meetings. he concluded that such meetings existed for old, fat men that simply found pleasure━ power, even, in the mere sense of self-pleasure as they continued to banter back and forth between whom had a more efficient strategy. or how the other was making millions within seconds, crediting their skillful tactics of marketing. to say that daniel was a cocky bastard would be an understatement around these men. which, ironically, made his ego grow undeniably.
“stupid asses,” he merely uttered out from under his breath, flashes of the wearisome meeting occurring to his memory as he then shook off the mere thought. “i should’ve called in sick.” it was quite hilarious to see the latter boast about how he enjoyed his oh-so amazing job as a business man, especially when he’s the one complaining and ranting about how pathetic such conferences were every time he was invited. perhaps he was lying to himself. but of course, being the stubborn latter is he, daniel would never admit that.
tugging at the black tie that seemed to suffocate his throat, he became a tired mess as he approached the entrance of the gated community. upon reaching his floor, the numbers of each corridor had flew past his cloudy hues. it was until the mere sight of a specific condo that had caught his attention, 205.
the corner of his lips immediately tugged upwards into a smug grin. mischief gleaming in those, once tired, eyes. the latter’s arm then lifted upwards, reaching out to have his knuckles knock against the wooden surface of his neighbor’s door. anticipation evident on his features whilst awaiting for the other to answer.
