Malik was just your average unattractive mechanic working in your average sort of town, not looking for any sort of trouble. Then Altair happened. And just keeps coming back.

Altair/Malik | R | strong language mature themes, sexual content
Malik did not hate Altair because he was rich, handsome, famous (for nothing), athletic or apparently charming (to women). No, Malik hated Altair because he was a sexist pig with a perpetual audience that was influencing a whole generation of tweens to think it was perfectly okay to say whatever dick thing came into their heads. That was why he started his blog; he just didn’t count on Altair finding it or becoming it’s number one fan.
Malik/Altair | R/Nc-17 | strong language mature themes, sexual content, dubious consent, violence, dark themes
Altair has known since he was thirteen years old, the year he realized he was an omega, that his body was never going to be his own. He thought he had overcome his own fate when Al Mualim agreed to allow him to stay on as an Assassin but even becoming the youngest Master Assassin ever did not save him. Following the semi-failed mission at Solomon’s Temple, Altair is gifted to Malik as a reward for his service. Malik doesn’t want Altair but he does not turn down the chance to show him his place.

...one hopes eventually this shows up as more than just an ugly link address.

Action movie bounty hunters AU. Rivals or partners, Malik and Altair track down and apprehend wanted people for both the police and private clients. One day they accept two conflicting contracts put out on the same target; a young man (last name of Miles) separated from his totally worried family (contract 1) who also happens to be running away from what looks like contractual obligations re: scientific research (contract 2, probably pays much better). The target himself is uninterested in both.
I’m not ashamed to admit that this took me a whole like half minute to work out who Miles was. Then I was like OH RIGHT DESMOND.
This idea is lovely. I’m not sure what they’d ultimately do with Desmond. But I like the idea of it.
(Completely unrelated to this idea. Paper Walls started out with Altair as an assassin-for-hire that was hired to kill Malik and Kadar and upon watching them for the best opportunity to kill them, he discovered they were sleeping together and that the people who wanted them dead were actually bad guys. And if you’ve read Paper Walls, that never happens.)
