A busted tape deck, no radio signal, and three and a half hours of driving through nothingness. Dean sets out to test Cas’s patience—only to end up with a physics lesson about atoms, energy… and freckles.
Then — so quietly that Dean wasn’t sure he’d actually heard it — Cas said, “I saved your freckles for last.”
Dean blinked, thrown off by the sudden shift. Cas’s tone hadn’t changed — still matter-of-fact, but there was warmth beneath it he couldn’t quite hide.
“They were what truly made you you,” Cas said. “I wanted them to be… perfect.”
