I'm into clothes. That wasn't always the case. One of my earliest memories was the first time I decided to pick out my own clothes and my mom seemed to be upset with me. I know now that was just a very clear turning point that I was getting older, but at the time I felt very guilty that I had upset her.
So, my interest in clothes laid dormant until I was about 20, when I discovered online shopping. Since then, I've kinda stumbled into my signature "look." For most of my 20s this was cute t-shirts and jeans, with forays into dress-wearing once in a while.
On one of many trips to Vegas, I realized I felt a lot more comfortable in dresses, and have gravitated towards wearing 90% dresses and skirts. Jeans have only made an appearance once this year. Make no mistake that weekends are mostly spent in leggings or workout gear, though.
Clothing is important to me, and I pretty much wear what I want. The reality is there's no amount of "flattering" clothes or spanx that will make anyone believe I am anything but what I am. And, staying in the safe realm of boot cut jeans and A-line skirts is boring.
What I've learned is that life is better with a good pair of tights and a fun dress.
