One Direction hosted a special event on the 29th September 2015, arranged by the charity Rays of Sunshine, for 30 seriously ill children and their families to travel to London to meet and spend time together before their O2 concert! The children, aged between 5 and 17, travelled many miles across the country to meet the band.

The exclusive event took place at the O2 Arena, where the band greeted and answered questions from some of their bravest fans before giving special gifts and posing for pictures together.

Amongst the audience was Morgan, 13, from Arbroath, Scotland, who is living with Leigh’s Disease. When given the chance to ask her idols a question Morgan, who told the boys she had travelled over 700 miles to meet them, took the opportunity to get the boys to sing ‘That’s what makes you beautiful” to her.

Lily-Anne, 6, from Stoke-on-Trent, who is living with severe Epilepsy, asked if Niall could dance with her, showing him some of her own moves!

The event was sponsored by Frankie & Benny’s(an Italian & American cuisine restaurant chain , that adopted Rays of Sunshine for their chosen corporate charity 2015-16 in January this year). Frankie & Benny’s work closely with Rays of Sunshine all throughout the country brightening up the lives of seriously ill children .

Each of their fans were given tickets to see their O2 show that night, a One Direction t-shirt signed by each of them, and a bottle of their perfume.

Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, and Niall Horan, have been ambassadors of the Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity since 2012 and and have regularly give up their time  help grants wishes for seriously ill children in the UK.

During the event One Direction shared:

“We love working with Rays of Sunshine. They do inspirational work, which we’ve seen over the last few years and we’ve met so many brave children. Thank you so much for having us involved time and time again.”

YESTERDAY WAS A GREAT DAY BEFORE THE CONCERT I SAW NIALL ARRIVING WITH HIS CAR AND HE WAVED AT US GOD. I WAS NEAR THE STAGE AND FUCKING H&L WERE IN FRONT OF ME DURING DRAG ME DOWN AND OTHER TWO SONGS AND THEY WERE ALL WEARING NICE CLOTHES APART FROM NIALL THE SAME BLACK SHIRT BUT GOD I CANNOT STILL BELIEVE HOW CLOSE I WAS LIKE I COULD SEE LOUIS' HANDS AND NECK VEINS WHEN HE WAS SINGING AND HE'S SO DELICATE AND SOFT IN HIS MOVEMENTS AND HARRY WAVED AT US LIKE 30 TIMES AND BLEW KISSES ALL THE TIME AND HIS HAIR IS SO LONG AND HE'S SO SLIM AND TALL BUT HIS THIGHS ARE SOMETHING OUT OF THIS WORLD AND THEN LIAM WAS SO SO SO CUTE IDK WHAT TO SAY ABOUT HIM AND NIALL COULDNT WALK WELL BUT HE SINGS WITH SO MUCH PASSION AND POWER I WAS PASSING OUT BYE
