The concept is that Ace assist to Townsville music festival ( yeap the one of the ppg movie newspaper) so they meet each other

Why Souk Eye is a good 2Ace love song

Okay so I was listening to Souk Eye (my obsession since the concert) and I LOVE finding meanings in songs AND,,,,

If you look deep enough, there’s traces of 2Ace!

(Side note : this is for fun and game, don’t take me 100% seriously, I’m just thinking this could be a really cool animatic, and yeah i kNOW we see Murdoc when Souk Eye plays live bUT LET ME LIVE)

So, context wise, Souk Eye, in its first form, is, theoretically, about politics around male homosexual relationships n stuff. You'll see it in the lyrics if you look close enough.

So, where's the 2Ace?

Lemme pull up the lyrics and explain my brain :

[Verse 1: 2-D]

LA why you're so complicated for me, twilight

(LA could symbolize Ace here, since he is from America. Why would he be complicated? It makes more sense in the second line of the verse, let's read that).

Waiting on the planet to turn to me, dark side

(The main reason why it could be complicated is because, 2D isn't 100% sure about Ace (so, the planet = Ace). He's comparing Ace to Murdoc I mean look at the resemblance and is waiting on Ace to turn ”dark side”, just like Murdoc (dark side = abusive, in this context). This is why "LA is so complicated" to 2D ; he's feeling a mix of emotions about Ace).

If loving you's a felony now, then I'm a renegade, riding

(I looked up what renegade meant : "a person who deserts and betrays an organization, country, or set of principle". So, if we add some angst to my theory, maybe 2D loving Ace/developing feelings for Ace could be seen as a betrayal from 2D to Murdoc, since Murdoc is still in prison, not participating in the band's creation of The Now Now this song was released when Mudorc was in prison, so yeAH).

Trying to find tomorrow ain't easy 'til you dive in

(I could theorize that 2D is trying to accept his feelings? He's trying to find the tomorrow where he finally stops being in denial about his feelings but, realizes, that he needs to "dive in"to them, he needs to be honest with himself and Ace).

[Verse 2: 2-D]

Why you rolling waves over me now, that's all I need, dreaming

(Rolling waves over someone can symbolize adding stress on someone. So, 2D is asking why Ace (or mostly, his feelings for Ace), figuratively, is(are) rolling waves over him. "That’s all i need" is sarcastic, meaning that 2D didn't actually need all this extra stress. "Dreaming" could be him, instead of facing his emotions and the stress they bring, legit dreaming/day dreaming of their relationship, skipping all the very stressful steps of love).

Waiting on LA to come find me, be forgiven

(These next few verse lines are mostly me thinking of angsty situations to be honest. I'm theorizing, maybe 2D is waiting for Ace to come to him first, like that it won't have to be for 2D to admit his feelings for Ace).

I'll be a regular guy for you, I never said I'd do that

(2D could be saying that he told Ace that they could be buds and stay as such (when they first met), but with his feelings flourishing, well, that can't happen. He can't be that "regular guy", 2D wants to be the "special guy").

Why you looking so beautiful to me now when you so sad?

(Thinking this could be when Murdoc comes back, so Ace needs to leave the band. This could be seen through 2D's and Ace's POV. I'm thinking mostly Ace's POV in this instance. Ace notices that 2D is sad that he is leaving, notices how that takes a toll on 2D, and feelings start fluttering).

[Chorus]

I will always think about you

That's why I'm calling you back on my way through

(Again, this could be applied to both POVs. Both 2D and Ace will be thinking of each other, that's why they're going to stay in contact.).

[Verse 3: 2-D]

I wanna stay with you for a long time; I wanna be stone, love

(With both of them realizing their love for each other, they wish they could stay forever together, that their love could be written in stone, but with Murdoc coming back, it can't be).

I wanna see LA in your eyes when I'm leaving with your love

(I feel this could be Ace saying this to 2D. "LA in your eyes" could mean figuratively Ace wants to see 2D's love for him in his eyes, like, "seeing himself" in his eyes when Ace will be leaving with 2D's love).

[Chorus]

I will always think about you

That's why I'm calling you back, 'cause I got to run soon

(Similar to my previous point, but referring to the "that's why I'm calling you back, 'cause i got to run soon". Ace has to leave soon, but he promises to keep contact).

[Outro]

I will always think about you

That's why I'm calling you back on my way through

(They're lamenting the end of their closeness, they're lamenting on something that could have been if Murdoc had never returned. But, 2D and Ace will always thinks about each other and throughout their separate lives, will always call back).
