Two Door Cinema Club made their long awaited, much heralded return yesterday with their new single, Talk, and a slick music video. Apparently, this new iteration of TDCC features an Alex Trimble with his hair shaved. Talk, out on Glassnote Records, was unveiled via BBC Radio 1 as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World. They lavish us with a rambunctious grooving dose of their off-kilter modernist pop, infused with a dashing infusion of wonky disco. Talk is TDCC’s first new music since the success of 2016 album Gameshow. Speaking about the new song, singer Alex Trimble explains: “I love the pop thing. I love experimenting and going to different places, I love doing things that are a little bit wonky and I love the idea of doing something we haven’t done before, why can’t we do all of those things at once? That’s what it was, doing whatever felt right… It sounds like Two Door Cinema Club – not a Two Door Cinema Club there’d ever been before but that’s what I love. We can always do something new but it always feels like something we’ve done.” We’re over the moon that one of our favorite indie rock, indie pop, and dance punk groups is back. It almost feels like it’s the 2000′s again, dancing our night away to their sweet sound. Stream Talk via major digital services, here.

Who’s excited for a new album from indie legends Two Door Cinema Club? WE ARE! That’s right, TDCC has, as we hoped, announced a new album named False Alarm, out one day before my birthday on October 6th via Glassnote Records! It’s like the Irish band wanted to give me the best birthday present ever! Last month, we heard new song Talk, now followed by Satellite, which was unveiled as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music’s Beats 1. It’s an infectious Krautpop-influenced slice of peppy sparkling indie pop. TDCC wanted to let us know, we’re “in it together”, be it Brexit, climate change, or any other man-made modern day terror. Their impending fourth studio album False Alarm finds the three piece gloriously unshackled and creatively at the peak of their game. Across its ten tracks, False Alarm is said to wryly scan and satirize the social and environmental woes of 2019 through their prism of wonderfully off-kilter pop, simultaneously borrowing from and warping elements of future pop, disco, rock, funk and soul. “I love the pop thing,” frontman Alex Trimble explains. “I love experimenting and going to different places, I love doing things that are a little bit wonky and I love the idea of doing something we haven’t done before, why can’t we do all of those things at once? That’s what it was, doing whatever felt right… It sounds likeTwo Door Cinema Club – not a Two Door Cinema Club there’d ever been before but that’s what I love. We can always do something new but it always feels like something we’ve done.” You know what else we’re really looking forward to? The tour that must accompany their album release. We’ll be looking out for its announcement, and hoping it’ll include a North American visit! Stream/download Satellite, here.
