and my response is that i didn't know he was brown-skinned, but my opinion doesn't change. no matter how brown-skinned her dad is, she's white-passing, white-washed, she presents herself and navigates the world as a white latina, so she obviously doesn't consider herself black, and in that case, why should i? and being partly black doesn't make it ok for her to darken her skin and her features (not talking abt tanning of course) cause she thinks it's cute, like blackness isn't a costume you take on and off when it's convenient/trendy
