What’s your opinion on fem!Stan in a 2fords AU? Do you think the older version of Ford would be able to sweep her off her feet? Do you think if that ever did happen, it would happen partly because she and Ford are having a fight of some kind? Do you think fem!Stan would call older Ford daddy in bed?
I love all flavors of 2fords, and I do actually have a wip for it with fem Stan! I love ford showing up as Mr (but let’s be real, 12 phds, he’s definitely correcting people to call him dr) forrester and Stan falls hard. So I think first we have to decide why is older ford there. Is this portal ford, stuck hopping between dimensions or is this a ford post-weird who is maybe trying to get a second chance for some reason? Personally, I like portal ford bc I feel like he would go into the situation totally self absorbed, only thinking about how this will benefit him. He’s going to be the mentor he always wished he had as a child, someone who truly sees and understands him and can offer challenges. Sure, he’ll have to deal with his (bumbling, idiotic, selfish) brother but he’s sure that he has control over his emotions, plus he can also steer Stan in such a way that he doesn’t ruin the younger ford’s life. If stan isn’t left to be a failure, the younger ford will be able to go off and do amazing things and not have to feel guilty about leaving his brother (who can’t take care of himself) behind.
He is not expecting a twin sister to walk into the classroom a step behind his younger self. But even more than that, he was not expecting them to look so young. And those two things throw him completely off kilter. He’s getting coffee in the teachers lounge and a group, admin included, tries to talk to him. “Oh you’ve got the pines twins? Well Stanford, he’s easy. He already knows it all. It’s Stanley you have to watch out for. Just let her copy off her brother and she’ll be out of your hair quick enough. She’s stupid and lazy, always in trouble. She’ll be lucky if she doesn’t drop out or get knocked up before graduation.” (Meanwhile this girl has been on like two dates tops and barely even smooched the guy. People just assume the worst of her for no reason.) And sure ford remembers adults giving Stan a hard time but was it really this blatant? Did no one even try to give her a chance? And ford is forced to remember that he never spoke up for his brother, and for the first time in a very long time, shame overshadows the anger and bitterness.
Well he’s here to be a mentor, isn’t he? Maybe he’ll just focus more on Stanley. Because those people were right about one thing. He is perfectly capable. He would have done even better for himself if Stanley hadn’t sabotaged his project. He’ll just focus on her, improve her and encourage her so that she doesn’t feel the need to hold her brother back. Fixing Stan will fix his younger self. So he singles her out for private tutoring and the more and more he keeps her after school, the more and more he finds himself looking at her, seeing all the ways she is the same and different from his brother. And all those things, well, boy or girl was never part of the equation for him. He always just wanted Stanley. And he certainly can’t deny the appeal of the soft curve of her hips and those perk little tits juxtaposed against muscular arms and shoulders.
Meanwhile, the twins are going through it. Ford is seething in jealousy that Dr. Forrester—who also has polydactyl! Who also is very scientifically inclined! Who has multiple phds! In subjects Ford is so interested in but didn’t even know that you could get a doctorate for!!!—isn’t giving him the time of day but is paying all this attention to Stan. He’s jealous bc he wants attention bc he’s the universe’s most special boy and also bc he loses it anytime someone else is looking at Stan. At this point, I think Ford doesn’t know he’s attracted to his twin sister. His internal monologue is still very “she is mine, carved from my rib” but the realization hasn’t hit him yet. Stan, on the other hand, she knows she’s head over heels for her brother, but she’s quietly resigned to it. It’s not going to happen, of course it won’t. Ford thinks he’s the freak bc of his hands, he has no idea that she’s actually so much worse, and she’ll take it to her grave. Besides, she doesn’t need anything else, being his sister is perfect. But when she walks into that classroom and their new teacher is staring her down like he’s studying a specimen through a microscope, well, a very familiar and warm feeling settles in her stomach. This old guy is hot, and she cannot believe she’s as into him as she is. And then he starts wanting to tutor her? He tells her that she’s capable?? He won’t let her give up even when she breaks down sobbing that she’s worthless and stupid and will never accomplish anything on her own it’s true everyone says it??? She’s in love with Ford, of course, but Dr. Forrester is so handsome (like Ford) and smart (like Ford) and kind to her when no one else is (like Ford). can you love two people at once?
Cue tutoring sessions that are getting more and more charged until they finally snap and they’re making out on the teacher’s desk, grinding against each other. Stan has never felt anything like this, her panties are soaked and her fucking chemistry teacher is hard and rubbing against her until she’s whimpering and screaming. And Ford, he knows he should feel bad about this bc she’s 16 (this is their junior year, so with their June birthday, they wouldn’t be 17 yet) but like, she’s also his twin sister, so if there’s a hell, he’s already on the way down. So they start an affair, and Stan thinks it’s going to be all sex bc what else could a man in his 50s want with a teenage girl, but it’s more than that. She feels comfortable enough to talk to him, and he listens and talks back, and he’s still tutoring her, still actually helping her improve her grades. She’s getting things and passing without her brother’s help for the first time and holy shit, is she actually going to maybe graduate without cheating and just being moved along??? She gets her first ever C- on an algebra test, and when she shows it to him, he hugs her tighter than anyone (other than Ford) ever has, spins her around, and kisses her so sweetly, and Stan can actually see someone proud of her, her accomplishments, for the first time in her life, and she is so in love with Hank.
(Note: I know people normally give Ford the Hal name for these types of aus, but that was Stan’s fake id. But I wanted them to be very close and I looked it up. Hal is a diminutive of Harry. Another diminutive is Hank, so there we go)
Back to the younger Ford. His jealousy is festering, always growing. He hates how much time Stan spends with Forrester—he is no longer looking up to this guy—but in true Ford fashion, he misplaces all his anger. He’s snappish with Stan when she gets home later than any tutoring session should rightly go on. He’s suspicious, thinks Forrester is a creep, but he puts the majority if it on Stan rather than their teacher, and of course, that hurts her. Alternatively, he’s ignoring her. She wants to spend all this time with someone else? Fine. He has dreams so far removed from his sister. He’s got colleges to apply to, ambitions of fortune and recognition in the scientific community. He’ll discover something that will change the world, and he doesn’t need Stan around to do that.
Somewhere in here there has to come a point where Stan can’t ignore the similarities between her brother and her lover anymore. And Ford knows that she’s noticing, he can see the gears turning in her head. There’s probably a bit of a fight here, because he lied to her. What if she wasn’t also in love with her twin? How is it ok that he started this up without letting her know that very crucial detail about who he was to her? But like, it’s Stan, so of course she forgives him and by this point, Ford is so fully obsessed with her. And I’m all for the older ford in a 2fords au being really possessive and creepy about it. Because this is his second chance with his twin, his twin who is young and perfect and still innocent. This is his twin before everything bad that happened between them, and he’s never going to let those bad things happen. He’s going to make sure that everything happens in a way that they stay together, that he keeps her, that makes sure she fully belongs to him and him alone. If that means sabotaging his younger self, well…
