Did the development of computers for civilian use end 50 years ago, when the FELD prototypes got destroyed?
I was thinking about the scene, where high Interfacing Harry recognizes the computer in church as a government class type, and when he asks Soona about where she got a Coalition computer, she says the other one was insufficient for the research of the anomaly, so she abandoned it and got a better one from a friend of a friend (of a friend?) who used to work for Coalition, and apparently tries to be totally not nervous about it.
Why was this branch even brought up, what was the point of it?
So, apparently civilians cannot buy good computers in a legit way for money and are limited in access to more powerful machines? Is it because the Coalition doesn’t want people to play with pale holes?
