Excited to show some love for Lenalady for the @lenalove-event! Had a hard time settling on a prompt/idea, but eventually settled on the trickster goggles from the Ark Arc Man, I like the third uniforms and all but those second uniforms were such a look. And so was Lenalee’s short hair

Part of a weekend sleepover shoot with friends in Berkley 2011! I had forgotten my pleather gloves, so I had to use lace ones as a stand in. I was going through a lot at this time. I was really grateful for my friends getting me away for the weekend to do something we all loved.

I really happy with a lot of things on this cosplay!

My first time working extensively with stretch pleather or making any type of pants! I initially made the sleeves too small, so I was able to add a godet which imo just made it seem like a slimming decorative seam lol.

I used bias tape and a white moleskin for all the detailing. I'm still really proud of how clean all the crosses came out and how tight I was able to get the bias tape to curve on the shoulders.

The belts have trouble staying up, so if I ever do a re-do I'll likely add some hidden snaps or belt loops.

Not a lot of materials were available back then, so my badge is made of thin cardboard layered on top of each other. I had made Lenali's gold pigtail holders out of a brass sheet, but it was hard to keep it in place and it pulled my hair terribly. Her activated boots are made with reflective tape and foamies cut to form a shallow cone and glued on. The thigh bands are thick black elastic. Her deactivated boot covers have an invisible zipper going up the ankle so it can fit as snugly as possible.

This is one of my favorite cosplays construction wise.

WiP - 2nd Uniform for Allen - Pt 7 (Last Part)

Slow but steady was the motto for the last few things. I had adjusted a few seams here in there (didn't took photos) but the last bigger parts are the closure and the cross.

First of I made a new pattern for the cross, the old one was too crooked and too small. It's a bit more stylized now but I like it that way, it looks unique.

After that it was cutting parts and building this puzzle in several layers. I first wanted to the 'screws' with glue but then remembered I had those little pearls. Last is the comparison with V1 of the Cross.

Then I got the silver leaf out and coated the bits that needed their shine (closure of the zipper, the big button and the cross).

After that I luckily had my new buttons arriving after some testing (and finding out one button isn't as magnetic as the other???) I finished the bags.

Quite a marathon of 2 hours sewing on buttons followed.

And the final step was to add the rose cross to the uniform.

I found some little seams I need to fix, but I won't documentate those.

Here a quick fitting test in the evening, it was a long day and I didn't feel like putting on a wig. I will fix the seam the day after and ironing the whole thing. I will see if I take some test photos or not.
