Carlos Sainz Jr., in front of a new challenge
28.04.2011
The legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit will host this weekend the second meeting of the Eurocup Formula Renault and the Northern European Cup (NEC), two events in one that will undoubtedly be a major challenge for Carlos Sainz Jr., as he leads both classifications after the tests disputed in Alcañiz of the European and in Hockenheim of the NEC.
The 16-year-old's start to the season has been very good, five podiums in all five races he has held, with three victories included. But the difficulty of this weekend will have double value for both good and bad, the result of Spa-Francorchamps will be very important as it will influence the classification of both championships. There are 50 drivers on the Belgian track, which will make the traffic on the track, both in the times and in the races, a decisive factor.
Carlos Sainz Júnior: "We are perhaps in front of one of the most transcendental weekends of the two championships, you can not miss it and we have to do both races and times without making mistakes. I really want to go back to the Spa Circuit, is one of the most mythical trails, where the track and weather conditions can influence the final result, and make the race even more complicated than it will be."
