Dragon's Prophet: New EU website, Gameplay Video

Wanna know how to train your dragon? Instead of watching the DreamWorks' movie, you can learn it by playing Dragon's Prophet, an F2P MMO featuring all kinds dragons and which allows to you discover, capture and tame over 300 of them boasts a new European community website.

Based on Infernum, the game's European publisher, "The dragons not only differ in appearance but also offer different types of movement: Some can be used to fly, some are experts at gliding, others don't have wings at all and some are even capable of diving underwater." And "Each dragon possesses an individual skillset containing passive, active and supporting abilities. For example, a flying dragon could be capable of healing, providing buffs, and engaging in melee combat."

Square Enix confirmed layoffs but claimed their MMOs were not affected

Recently the game industry was plagued by job cuts: first Petroglyph Studio, the developer of End of Nations, and then Trion Worlds, the creator of Rift, and now Square Enix. Report said that Square Enix reduced staff its Los Angeles offices and then confirmed by the company's director of public relations Riley Brennan.

In response to the concern of some MMO titles like Wakfu and the upcoming FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, Brennan claimed that the layoffs won't affect any current or upcoming titles, the official statement said:

In order to ensure it is operating effectively, the Square Enix Los Angeles office has reduced its workforce. This was a difficult decision and we wish the best for those affected by these changes. The decision will not have any impact on the operations of MMO titles. Customers can expect those services to continue, including the upcoming launch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Just hope those who were affected could find a new job soon.

4 Instance to be challengable in Aion 4.0

Aion 4.0 just went online not long before. Today, it announced another 4 new instances are coming and available to challenge. The new instances include a new fortress sieges in the Katalam region, hunting bosses in underground mazes, a hidden weapon, and a tragic new character.

The four instance names ‘Fortress Reward instance’, ’Underground Katalam’, ‘Katalamize’ and ‘Lunadium’ respectively, but the names will be changeable.

Fortress Reward instance: The unique fortress in ‘Katalam’ region has unique terrain such as mountains, plains, even fortresses where flight control will be very important. Time limits and AP gains for these new instances will be similar to current instances.

'Underground Katalam': There are many ways down into the Underneath 'Katalam' which lies a complex underground cavern that spans the northern and southern areas of the region. There is also a large corridor that runs underneath 'Katalam' and leads to the 12-person raid dungeon 'Katalamize,' that is also the path to 'Lunadium,' what will surely become the top instance for Level 65 Daevas.

'Katalamize': Players must destroy the ‘Hyperion’, an ancient weapon capable of great destruction lies beneath 'Katalam' before Beritra gets it. Hyperion is the strongest boss of Aion.

'Lunadium': This instance begins with a tragic tale that witch Grendal cursed herself so as to save her died lover. 'Grendal' assaults players within a confined area with five different attacks.

Subscription removed from The Secret World; game purchase still required

The Secret World is the latest MMO that dropped subscription and offered F2P option, but you still need to buy the game, either from retail or online store, to play the game. Funcom just revealed new details of the new business model.

Players can choose to continue to be subscribers as before and enjoy some premium contents and services. There are 2 types of premium accounts: Member and Grandmaster. Being a Member, you will have:

1. Time Accelerator (Clickable item which increases experience gain for defeating monsters by 100% for 1 hour, 16 hour cool-down – only usable by Members and Grand Masters)

2. $10 worth of Bonus Points (given out every month)

3. Item-of-the-month gift (given out every month)

4. 10% discount to everything in the in-game store

Grandmaster can have all the benefits above and get an additional 10% discount to everything in the in-game store, for a total bonus of 20%.

Players who buy the game before December 31 will get Issue #5 update for free, what's more, they will receive the Initiate Pack "which includes strong starter weapons, a Blood Raven pet and extra social clothing" as well.

When talking about the reason to turn TSW to free-to-play, Game Director Joel Bylos said they wanted to "remove the entry barrier and have more gamers make the jump into the game."

New Transformers Universe screenshots hit the earth

Jagex's upcoming browser-based MMO Transformers Universe just launched a new official site and to celebrate this major progression on the development of the game, the studio released several new screenshots yesterday.

Transformers Universe uses an advanced version of RuneScape engine and has a better graphics compared to the former Jagex titles. In a recent talk, the developer revealed that the game is strongly influenced by LOL and World of Tanks, which focuses on competitive and action-oriented MOBA gameplay more than traditional RPG questing and leveling gameplay.

Now you can apply for beta test at the official site though the beta schedule hasn't been revealed.

Cabal 2 to update its first expansion Emperor’s Yard Soon

Recently, Cabal 2 updated its first expansion Emperor’s Yard.

With this update, the level cap was raised to level 35 and each class also added skills at level 32 and level 35. Additionally, new map “Labyrinthic Forest” and 3 solo dungeons as well as a party dungeon will add to the game. Thereinto, there will be legendary drop weapon loots in the party dungeon. In the end, the developer added a battle mode system which is similar to the mode in Cabal Online.
