BMW 2 Series GranCoupe: WHY? 🇩🇪 ______________________________________   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ [7/24/19] BMW has revealed new images of the upcoming 2 Series GranCoupe and all I have to say is DON’T BE FOOLED! This is NOT based on the same platform as the 2 series coupe but is on the same FWD platform as the new 1 series hatchback and X2 “SUV.” So while it may be a perfect CLA competitor, is it worthy of the BMW badge? The good thing is that the U.S. market will only get the AWD X-Drive model as of now.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏁 @Allcarnews Spec Sheet: Under the hood will be a range of powertrains but the one to go for is the top of the line M235i X-Drive trim with a 2.0L Turbo 4 making 306HP and 331 lb-ft of torque sent through a 8 speed auto to all four wheels. The 228i model gets a lesser amount of power at 231HP and 258 lb-ft of torque. 🏁   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The design too may be controversial, trying to put RWD styling from the new 8series GranCoupe on to a bubbly squished FWD platform already looks a bit off even with the camo on.
